“Door’s jammed,” I said. “Door’s locked, Taylor.  So is the door to the living room.”  My dad answered me.  When I looked at him, he showed me the old fashioned key in his hand.

I shrugged.  “I don’t want to go back, I don’t want to beg and plead for help from those assholes in the school faculty, just so I can return to the same position I was in a month ago.  Way I see it, the bullying is unavoidable, impossible to control or prevent.  It’s like a force of nature… a force of human nature.  It’s easier to handle, if I think about it like that.  I can’t fight it, can’t win, so I’ll just focus on dealing with the aftereffects.”

Taylor, that's the WHOLE FUCKING PROBLEM

Honestly, reading 6.9 is hard because like - Taylor absolutely does need to talk to Danny here, but Danny pushed all the wrong buttons, and Taylor is already a mess and -

It's just not happening. She's not telling him the truth, she has no one she can talk to -

Taylor's lack of a trustworthy outlet outside the Undersiders is obviously a key part of the story, and one thing that should be easy enough to fix, in a fic, and yet, realistically, Taylor's issues run deep - fixing that isn't easy.

And then, right on the cusp of turning away from the Undersiders to do the heroic thing, she understandably picks friendship over heroism. Doesn't talk to her dad, doesn't turn them in (which, to be fair, would not have been so simple - Coil's power would have screwed over her attempts, in the end, since she still doesn't know exactly what it does, yet)
