Rec: This is a post-series 3 fic that skims over all the pesky “minor” issues we were left with (Moriarty, Mary’s past, Sherlock’s drug use) so we can get back to the best part: Sherlock and John living together, solving cases, and trying to figure out what they mean to each other. It’s a slow burn of the best sort, with a series of incremental steps ratcheting up their interactions until the eventual explosion is inevitable. On top of that is a new case that entangles John and Sherlock far more deeply than either one of them expected. The touches of humor are perfectly pitched to match with the tone of the series, and the character’s voices ring true and authentic.
This is unrated, and does not contain any smut although there is definitely plenty of sexual tension. It also contains a small amount of violence and drug use.
