Metro Art held a variety of free, public events this February including an exclusive Shakespearean themed Valentine’s Day Tour, an evening of Tango, a performance by the Vardan Ovsepian Chamber Ensemble and three tours of artworks in rail stations.

Metro Art Presents: Vardan Ovsepian Chamber Ensemble (VOCE), February 3
The Vardan Ovsepian Chamber Ensemble brought their provocative arrangements integrating elements of western classical forms, folk and jazz improv to Union Station’s Historic Ticketing Hall.

Valentine’s Day Art Tour, February 12
Metro Art Moves conducted a special tour in collaboration with the Independent Shakespeare Co. featuring live performances of select scenes from Shakespearean plays while traveling on the Metro Gold Line Extension.

Metro Art Presents: Tangótico, Carlos Barrionuevo & Mayte Valdes, February 14
In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Metro Art hosted an evening of Tango in Union Station’s Historic Ticketing Hall with performances throughout the night by acclaimed dancers Carlos Barrionuevo and Mayte Valdes accompanied by live orchestra Tangótico, led by Matias Piegari.

Metro Art Moves is a free series of regularly scheduled and special tours of artwork in the Metro Rail system. This month we conducted free tours viewing artworks in our rail systems along with an extensive art tour exploring art and architecture of Union Station
