She gnaws off the edge of a pistachio cookie, hardened up a bit since its residence in her dress pocket for the past few hours, wandering to the nearest booth, which happens to belong to Pure Valley. Alongside the typically available veggies and such, there's an array of paintings that immediately catches her eye, causing a bout of congestion in the area as she unceremoniously pauses in the midst of all the foot traffic to gander.
"...Golly, ain't that somethin'!" She chimes, mouth full, nose scrunching as she leans in. "How long did this one take ya, a whole year?" She points to the largest painting with a warbling snort, stepping in closer as her eyes seek out every detail. Lydia can place exactly where in town Tanny had set her easel up to capture this view in particular, with a stunning play on perspective and a lake-centric background (which has Lydia cheesing).

Today had been long. The ground has finally run dry once more after the days of storming, and the following hive inspections have been both extensive and nerve-wracking (a fault mostly of Shannon's, who tends to treat the bees like royalty). Not to mention the fact that their current batch of test flavors is nearing completion. Right now, they're trying for a handful of more umami attempts, but the black pepper & mustard seems to be the only true contender (turns out garlic doesn't work as well as they initially thought it might).
It's getting to be about that time where they close the curtains and switch on some lamps, tugging their headphones down around their neck just in time to hear a clattering knock on the rusty door. They've memorized the distinct knocks of everyone in the family by now, so there's a momentary confusion as they attempt to suss out who this could be. Huh. Definitely doesn't sound like Mom or Dad; they'd already be hollering their name by now, anyway. No, this sounds more like a visitor. Ken straightens up a bit, clearing their throat and trying not to look as incredibly confused as they definitely are when they swing the door open.
Oh. It's just Tanny. This is a relief, honestly; the Buchanans may as well be family at this point, it's just straight up odd to see her without Josie at her side. "Well, hey," they lean against the edge of the door, offering a tired smile. "What's up? Everything good?"
