Brad to John. “So what is ‘the indomitable human spirit’? Quitain was talking about it.”
John looked up at the large man currently denying The Dealers couch. “Uh, I don’t know? Certainly not something I have.” He scoffed at himself and returned to trying to untangle some wires Timmy had coated in a mysterious goo.
“Know anyone who does?” Brad pressed.
“My sister for one,” came the easy answer. “My mom- honestly my whole family baring me and my dad. It’s just… it’s this idea that humans are fucking crazy? And just- don’t stop, ever. Almost like some people’s brains can’t process bad stuff so they just keep plowing on ahead even when all is lost.”
Brad hummed. “Makes sense that Quitain would be interested in that, it not being natural to his type and all.” He thought for a moment longer. “Honestly it kind of reminds me of Timmy.”
“Yeah. That whole ‘brain can’t process bad stuff so it just keeps chugging along’ bit? Makes me think of him.” He hummed again, decidedly uninterested in continuing the train of thought and lighting up a joint.
