Lucid Dreaming with Tape Deck Mountain

Travis Trevisan makes beautiful, dark and haunting jams as the mastermind behind Tape Deck Mountain. The Brooklyn-by-way-of-San Diego outfit released the dark and stunning EP Slow Salvation early March 2013 and should absolutely not be missed by your ears.

Trevisan relocated from San Diego to Brooklyn last year."I lived in San Diego my whole life and wanted to try something new, plus my best friends (WRITER) in the world relocated here. So far I am broke and poor and loving it" Trevisan says. Since his move, Trevisan has since played a boatload of gigs and DJ residencies in between.

FF: When did you start making music as Tape Deck Mountain?

TT: I started in late 2008, TDM was my first attempt at song writing, previously I had been the lead guitarist for various bands for quite sometime.

FF: Tell me about the making of Slow Salvation

TT: Those songs are the closing chapter of an era in San Diego, great and dangerous times. I think I was an alcoholic.

FF: What do you hope 2013 will bring for you and/or Tape Deck Mountain

TT: I hope my food stamp application goes through, I would like to meet a cute girl that likes me back, and I already have some European tour plans, so I would like to see those plans come to fruition!

FF: What bands are you most obsessed with lately?

TT: Father John Misty, Writer, Census, the Spookfish, Mt Eerie!!!

FF:  If the world were going to end tomorrow what items would you put in a time capsule? 

TT: The world is ending! No ones gonna be around to find the time capsule. I never do drugs so i would probably try some drugs and try to make peace with God and the universe.

FF: Tell me two truths and a lie: 

TT: I love zoolander
