It's really late but my heart will explode if I don't post this here! I got to meet Chris Tomson aka CT, drummer of Vampire Weekend, and singer for Dams of the West, and drummer/singer for a wonderful jam group called, Taper's Choice! It was just a quick moment of saying hey may I have your setlist? also I'm such a fan of your work (13+ years at this point) & how grateful I am to see him in Burlington with this group. Such a sweet talented person who seemed to really hear what I was saying. He made really strong eye contact and thanked me more than once. It was really really short but absolutely heart filling. I've interacted with him on Twitter in years past about Dams of the West so this was just such a gift to see him in person and say thanks and have him show his gratitude for my gratitude basically.

I honestly think that part of it has to do with the jam scene in the music world. It's a lot of drugs and people being heady BUT it's also a lot of getting at the heart of the message of namaste. It just felt so right to be at this venue, Nectars, tonight. My college jam band, Seven Leaves, played there a lot and they're the reason I even like jam to begin with. I was brought into the band for a Grateful Dead tribute night. The rest was history. I've seen many jam bands now because of my college friendships and last night I got to see Bob Weir. It's pretty wild the musical path I've tread from getting into Vampire Weekend in like 2010, being an indie-rock hipster Tumblr kid, who saw Real Estate with The Babies opening for them in a really tiny venue, and to now be seeing Bob Weir (kinda for the second time as I've seen him in Dead & Co.) and Taper's Choice, back to back nights. When I first found Vampire Weekend, then Real Estate (I've always made a point to say hello to & thank Alex Bleeker for coming to VT-a place he has deep roots with as well from his college days, everytime I've seen him live, which is a handful at this point. Tonight was no different and he asked me if we'd met before lol), then getting into Alex Bleeker and the Freaks as I was getting into The Grateful Dead and Phish, then Dams of the West, then being so surprised when Vampire Weekend kinda aged into a dad jam band, but being cool with that because I'd aged into being a jam young adult, and now seeing Taper's Choice. It just feels kinda all connected and cosmic, with my past and location. I'm grateful for music and my trajectory and the artists who've have been alongside me for that change and also exhibited change of their own alongside me.
