Can we knock it off with the “Tiktok therians!” talk. And any other talk that separates the therian community by what platform they use.

Yes, therians on tiktok can often be fed misinformation and then spread said misinformation.

Yes, it is frustrating to see that. I understand.

But when we talk about this part of the community like some foreign group, and not just other therians, it feels like we’re separating the community even more.

Mocking a part of the therian community for being put in a place where misinformation is rampant doesn’t solve the issue. It just makes them less willing to listen to us, less open to correction.

Today one of my “friends” attempted to talk shit and make fun of some random (possible) therian online. She was laughing while saying shit like “yk those furries? the ones who think theyre animals?? Those people who wants to be like cats?”

Tbh it was kinda awkward cuz I was just sitting there staring at her with an unamused expression, bcuz what. What abt me made u think i’d laugh along..? Both of us have mutual friends (the only reason I have to endure hanging around her btw) who are open furs and therians, which makes it even more awkward. Cuz like cmon now, you know better than this.

This is the same “friend” who tried to mock one of said mutual critters pronouns with me (They/It) (which like, once again, what made you think i’d laugh along??)

Idk where i’m getting at with this. I just really hate cishetallo non-critters sometimes. They can be so close minded n it drives me insane.

Like dude, why can’t you js let people live?? Its really not that hard.

Finding out one of your friends support shitty beliefs is the worst. Especially when you can’t escape them.

One of mine apparently is Neutral to the Genocide in gaza, stating its “too violent!” (and blaming hamas for fighting back. like wtf??)

They’ve defended my teacher (who mocks trigger warnings) because apparently its fine to mock them because theres been “stupid” trigger warnings out there

And theyve admitted to a different friend that they’d fake support a therian while still judging them behind their back.

Also they’ve still participated in the “its acoustic!!” trend, knowing im autistic. (ex, will call someone being dumb/clumsy acoustic.)

Theres more things that r making me begin to dislike the living hell out of this person, but wtv.

I hate having something that (at times) physically prevents me from doing quadrobics. It’s not anything I can officially classify at a disability, though then again it kind of is one.

I love quadrobics, but my body hates it me (and honestly I hate it).

Also- don’t drink and drive guys- its really shitty.

You never know what damage you’ll cause someone else. You never know who will pay for your mistake, or how.

The therian community has a problem with how they react to people not phrasing things to the exact. A critter could say something slightly off and someone will send a paragraph on why they need to “educate” themselves and how theyre “spreading misinformation.”

Like yeah, i get it, someones message may lead a different interpretation which strays from the truth. But like- is it necessary to spam with how wrong and horrible they are for just not being hyper-specific??

I feel as if this community is so scared of misinformation that they’ll go to the extremes to keep it away, even if that means getting angry at things that aren’t actually misinformation.

Dunno if this makes sense, but i keep thinking of the times folks have gotten angry with me for me not phrasing thing super specifically. which lead to them misinterpreting what i meant and then getting angry at me for their conclusion.

Like its cool when ur chill about it (a bit annoying but at least your not angry.) but when folks are genuinely upset and angry about it- its just like??? what??

I hate being told “i’m here for you” & “you can tell me anything ykno?” cuz idk how to respond to that.

How do i tell someone that I can’t trust that, that there r things about me that im scared will make them leave?

How do i tell someone that there are so much things weighing me down that i want to spill out and tell them?

How do i introduce those things, and how do i tell them without feeling like a burden.

How do i open up?

I’m so used to putting up walls that i’ve forgotten how to take them down
