Odorous House Ant (Tapinoma sessile) in my backyard, May 2018. The name "odorous" comes from this ant's characteristic smell which is described as "rotten coconuts or over-ripe bananas it exudes when squeezed". I have never squeezed this species so can't confirm the smell.
