Summary: When Damian joins the Wayne family early, there are consequences. While Jason lives, Tim's parents both are murdered overseas and he is left alone - for now.
Comments: I loved this - it starts as school yard drama, Tim helping Damian in a school fight, that escalates with retaliation. But as it goes along, it shifts to really be about Tim dealing with the grief of his parents' death, slowly emotionally shutting down, even as the Wayne brothers' attention shifts to him. I love how it’s Damian Tim connects with first, even as Jason’s sider senses tingle the loudest. Dick, Jason, and Damian are such good brothers here, and seeing that care migrate to Tim, helping him deal with his own parental grief, is heartwarming.

Series: Part 3 of Batfamily Christmas Stories, Part 9 of Tim Joins BatFam AUs
Summary:
Tim tried to believe, if only for a little while. In kindergarten, his class had written letters to the big man...Tim's was only one sentence long.
"I want mommy and daddy home for Christmas."
They'd been in Egypt through New Year's.
He wrote again in first grade.
"Please let mom and dad be home for Christmas."
And in second.
"Please, if you are real at all, can you bring my parents home for Christmas?"
He hadn't really truly believed in the mythological man, but boy had he wanted to. Boy had he tried.
OR
When at a Wayne Enterprises Christmas Gala, Tim meets "Santa". Reluctantly, Tim asks him for what he's always wanted for the holidays - to be with his family. He just might get his wish, even if it's not exactly in the way he would have ever imagined.
taralaurel replied to your post “i’m all moved in for my final semester at wcu. came back to a...”
I feel you. I just printed out screen shots of texts my roommate has been ignoring and new copies of the roommate agreements to tape to all their doors. I'm so sick of stolen food, unlocked doors & living in a mess. Good luck!!
im gonna have to have a talk with my one roommate about it whenever she gets back. my other roommate and her mom helped me with the kitchen when they came in. i just dont want to be dealing with this kind of mess for another semester.
I just started reading some of your fanfiction. It's great. What are you publishing as an ebook?
Awww! Thank you so much!
It's a series about a King named Bucky James and an Army Captain named Steve Edward and all the very kinky sex they have when James isn't ruling the country (and hey, sometimes when he is) and Edward isn't being a badass (also sometimes when he is).
IDK, I've never done anything published before, in any form, but I do like writing and I am very broke, so I figured why not give it a try?! The first part is totally free to download (or it will be when I figure everything out!) and subsequent parts will be 99c a go.
Hey I saw your hair dye comments. I want to dye mine for the first time. Any advice? Everyone online contradicts. I work at an office so it's just going to be from dirty blonde to something like an auburn. Do I still have to do stuff to keep it from getting damaged? Are there bad box dyes? Etc? Sorry to bug you.
Oh it's no bother! :) I hope you don't mind my publishing this since I haven't gotten a question about box dyes yet!
I suppose there are such things as bad box dyes but it also depends on the color. Any box dye from walmart should do the job, I don't see any reason why it shouldn't since you're going for auburn.
As for tips, I would say to get yourself a pair of real rubber gloves and a friend to help you! Dyeing the back of your own head is pretty tough especially the first time around and that way you can make sure you get it all with the extra set of eyes and hands :) Also the gloves that come in box dyes really suck and any red tones are going to stain your skin. Oh! Which brings me to pick up a tub of vaseline to rub along your hair line so it doesn't stain your forehead! The last thing you want is to look like you're bleeding.
I don't think you would need anything to keep it from getting damaged since dye doesn't really hurt your hair. I am going to tell you to get shampoo and stuff formulated for red hair though just to keep the color looking nice and hopefully from bleeding out when you wash it! The John Frieda brand makes a good one.
I literally just loaded an ipad for a family friend who couldn't get it set up so she wasn't liking it too much.
First set set up an apple id if you don't have one already. You need it to download apps. Set up your email to receive to your phone. Your school may offer email or text alerts like mine does sign up for that. I get alerted when school is closed or delayed (which came in handy this winter as you can imagine and today probably our last snow day) and also safety alerts.
Download a calculator and the weather channel app. If your classes use blackboard download that app (it's an online system that lets teachers upload their powerpoints, syllabus, calendars stuff like that. You can also view your grades and set up to have an email sent to you when a teacher posts an announcement, new content is added, or a grade is posted).
Download ibooks. It's the main reader for apple products I love it. You can highlight, underline, add notes, define words, etc. in any epub style book. If you don't want to pay for books I know this great website tuebl.ca that has a lot of popular books for free. Make sure you download the epub versions.
You cannot hightlight a pdf in ibooks so you will need a separate pdf reader if your teachers post their powerpoints in pdf format. I use one call PDF Max. I had to pay for it but if you are going to use it for school it is worth it. I download the teachers powerpoints to it and highlight and add notes during class by typing. It saves a lot of paper compared to my classmates who print out all of the powerpoints and make notes by hand. However, I should point out that I have an ipad and the keyboard is bigger so you may want to factor that in to your decision of taking notes electronically. You could just add the powerpoints to ibooks or another free pdf reader for the ability to look at your powerpoints when you are on the go. I find it convenient to be able to study no matter where I am because I always have my notes with me.
I also have an app called class organizer. You may want to look around since I'm sure they have newer better apps now. It allows me to add a class, and add a session or that class. In that session I can record a lecture (comes in handy when you miss something or if your an aural learner and listening to lecture repeatedly helps you remember things), I can also take notes, draw pictures, and add assignments/exams/homework etc. from the app to the calendar app that comes with the phone. It also allows you to check off the assignments when you've done them within the app.
Download a word processing app. I have pages but again bigger keyboard. I would go for a free one or very cheap. Basically if you need to work on a paper you can do it on the go. Granted you could always use the notes app that came with the phone but it doesn't let you format like a word processing app would (like indenting your paragraphs, changing font sizes etc.)
A dictionary app is helpful as well.
That's really it for school but of course you can use the phone for much more so I'll tell you some of the other apps I have.
Dropbox-it's basically a cloud. It connects to your computer and the phone. Anything you upload to it will show in both places. Could also be helpful for school.
TUMBLR-to be hones the tumblr app sucks and a lot of times the pictures and gifs won't load but sometimes you just have to deal.
I also have twitter, pinterest, and facebook. I don't use facebook often but if you do it will come in handy.
Facetime comes with the phone and lets you video chat but only with other people who have facetime other apple users. I have skype downloaded which lets you chat with anyone who has skype. I actually used it to talk to my parents when I went on a trip to europe. It was fun.
I pay my bills using my phone all the time. I have sprint so I downloaded that app but any company you have should have an app. I also have an app downloaded for my bank in order to transfer money between accounts and I have apps for my credit cards in order to pay my bills.
I like window shopping so I have apps for amazon, walmart, target, groupon, and living social. You can also download an app that lets you snap a picture of the bar code and comparison shops for you to find out if it's selling anywhere else for cheaper. There a plenty of different kinds of those so just search for a price comparison shopper . I also have an ebay app, craigslist and bestbuy.
I also have opentable which lets you make reservations for local restaurants online (when you check in your receive points and you can eventually use the points for a free meal when you get enough)
YOUTUBE watch videos whenever you want. Fandango to buy movie tickets online. Live nation and ticketmaster to buy concert tickets. Tvguide and netflix if you have a netflix account.
I like to cook so I have a lot of food apps. Food network in the kitchen, epicurious, allrecipes, better homes and gardens recipes,
You can also order pizza online so I have pizza hut and papa john's apps.
I drink alcohol so I have a few apps that have drink recipes. Food & Wine cocktails, and mixology. These are old tho there are probably new better ones.
If you drive gasbuddy is helpful in showing you the prices of gas at different stations in your area so you can compare before deciding where to go.
I have a few travel apps like kayak and some packing list apps since I still haven't decided which I like best. Same with some to-do list apps and grocery shopping apps. I would say download a few free ones and decide which you like best.
The rest is just preference. I have a few magazine subscriptions through the newsstand app that comes with it. A few games, garageband, etc. There are literally thousands of apps so just have fun looking around.
