Tarch-7 is a thief. You wouldn't like to follow a thief, would you? What does that make you? A thief. You know what to do, otherwise I cannot be sure what will happen.
right well excuse me for following the amazing artist that was tarch-7-deactivated20140828 seems like You have forced him to deactivate his account. Or so yet again. Please stop that.
the asset’s that tarch has he does not claim them as his own i have them myself but tarch has added the hair onto each model as well as the fur. (that’s dead difficult to do btw)
The type of art that tarch does is ridiculously unique have you not seen it??!?! doing work in 3D like that takes just as long usually as any type of fanart. which is essentially what it it.
basically if you’re going to shout at tarch 7 for using asset’s that technically dont belong to him of a character that technically doesn’t belong to him
shout at almost every other developer. Flappy bird - nicked mario sprites for example. became the top downloaded game for the time it was available.
now for some basic fact’s:
Tarch does not claim that the character’s are his and we all already know who the character’s actually are and that they belong to dreamworks.
What tarch does is much much much harder than drawing any kind of fanart even if it isnt as detailed you really won’t appreciate it unless you’ve actually sat down in blender or maya and tried to replicate it.
he’s doing this (well was doing this) for fun and for the community not for personal gain he fully support’s htyd in every way.
He was clever enough to find a way to get models out of a game. and if you aren’t already impressed with that then i have no idea why because ripping models out of a game is freaking difficult.
the models he received from the game were broken slightly (no hair or fur as mentioned) he had to add them himself the fire effect’s in one of his latest works too he had to add that too.
To my better knowledge dreamwork’s haven’t come out and asked tarch to take down his art and until they do i see absolutely no problem with it.
So from the amazing person known as tarch 7 as i cannot speak for him only my opinion of him. Will you leave him alone and get off of your high horse saying you are morally right and claiming that everyone else is morally wrong. Because otherwise you’ll need to send this kind of message to every fan artist ever because the character doesn’t belong to them.
The issue of the moment is where the asset’s came from and i am pretty sure he didn’t create them himself, but in copyright law and oversensorship these day’s (just look at youtube and its 900,000 new laws) He should have asked permission to use the assets however he did not to my better knowledge.
To put it this way. if you have ever downloaded a picture off the internet for own personal use then you have stolen it under copyright law because downloading movies without the creator’s permission is the exact same thing you’re downloading something that doesn’t belong to you that is hosted in the public domain. Unless you very specifically check with the content creator whether you can use the property. and my guess is that you have not. considering the gif folder’s that everyone on here seems to have. If you are clever you can search for open source pictures ect. but even then you have to be careful.
IP is protected in law by, for example, patents, copyright and trademarks, which enable people to earn recognition or financial benefit from what they invent or create. By striking the right balance between the interests of innovators and the wider public interest, the IP system aims to foster an environment in which creativity and innovation can flourish.
Im 200% sure if you ask tarch what he want credit for it would be the animation not the character’s or the models.
If you took the time to actually read this i commend you and ask you to offer support to tarch to come back yet again and show us more of his amazing work i think the boy should be employed by dreamworks sometimes.
(oh and fyi following a thief as you put it doesn't actually make you a thief The same way following banksy and admiring his work doesn't make you a graffiti artist.)
