«Sitting down, looking around at his surroundings, [the Doctor] brushed some flour from his hair, the front of his jacket, and his trousers, and started to take stock of the events of the last two months; his entire life so far as a human.
It had been interesting, he thought; interesting — and somewhat complicated. Take this morning, for instance.
As an exercise in self-restraint, to see if this human body was just as restless as the Time Lord’s was, he had tried to sit in one place for as long as he could. That place being the kitchen table — while Jackie had been in baking mode. With Tony in his high chair at the table too, the Doctor had decided it would be a good idea to teach the boy the rudiments of the chemical interactions involved in the bread making process. He proceeded to cover both himself and the boy in flour as he explained how fine the grains were, by throwing some into the air and watching them float back down. Tony had giggled at this, and Jackie had turned with a smile on her face at hearing him laugh. The smile had instantly turned to a look of horror at the mess she had been faced with, and she had shouted louder than a Nine-Eared Mologot. He thought said Mologot would have been ecstatic at making a noise like that, and said so. He hadn’t seen anything wrong in this statement, it was a compliment, and he was trying to be nice, to placate her. Unfortunately, Jackie had been as far from flattered as it was possible to be.»
