A while back I pointed out how the party aftermath in the Amon ova is probably one of the most horrifying versions of the scene of any Devilman adaptation (though I think Crybaby's is pretty close too), and I think the invasion of Miki's home in the ova is also up there as the most dreadful version of the sequence, though I guess that depends if you see dread or false hope. The original manga alongside Neo, Darkside, Crybaby, and the like have the latter; in where if Miki and the others can juuuust fend the mob for long enough as well as Akira being soooo close, that he can swoop in & carry everyone to relative safety. But as always, he's unfortunately too late. Hell. he didn't even think the house WAS being attacked. As I said earlier, Apocalypse's version is just straight dread, there's not even some false hope, no fighting chance, Masa isn't even there to help provide some backup muscle, it just happens.
Can't even say that Ryo's announcement had any real influence on the situation as after Tare saw it, the guys were already IN the house, most likely before Ryo even called Akira out.
There is also the dark irony of Makimura children's parents being alive as Tare mentioned there dad was out demon hunting. So imagine being Kozo, trying to get home after joining some wannabe viligantes so they'd get off your back so they don't think your family are demons, and when you finally arrive, all you see is the burnt crisp of your home with the body parts of your daughter & son on pikes inside a pool of even more bloody body parts, and that's not even including how your adopted nephew who you swore to look after has been missing for THREE DAYS, either possibly being eaten by a demon or killed by some paranoid mob group
