What do you think of the Indie Tarot Renaissance? ☄️🗝️🃏 Haley Houseman, Tarot enthusiast and writer for Sanctuary 3 interviewed me along with @thetarotlady Teresa Reed and reader Damon Stang from @catlandbooks to share our thoughts on why indie tarot decks are becoming so popular. "(S)He that dwells in the secret place of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the almighty." The High Priestess is a favorite card among tarot readers and it is because nonetheless represents all the qualities that a good tarot reader aims for. In the High Priestess from the Tyldwick Tarot the representation is a small but powerful altar and the statue of Isis on top with two equal obelisks on both sides , the obelisks are the most interesting twist for me, they are pillars and represent the entrance to the temple, a threshold, but usually these pillars are black and white, in the Tyldwick both obelisks are equal, possibly meaning that there is no such thing as good or evil, that light and darkness are not two separate entities, darkness is merely the absence of light, and light also makes the shadows, to me this means that everything is as good or as bad as our understanding. Think about the myths and the different aspects associated with Isis, she is of course a faithful wife and a loving mother, but that does not dim her role as powerful and cunning sorceress. She brought back the body of Osiris from the depths of the Nile and "tricked" Ra into revealing his secret name to her, thus allowing her to heal him but also to have power over him. In this same myth is also Isis who hurts Ra in first place by creating a cobra to bite him and make him leave the land so the life could flourish, I see this as an example of this "neutrality" represented by the obelisk, magic is magic, knowledge is knowledge how we use it and what for depends solely on our comprehension of it, comprehension that can only be achieved through meditation, experience and intuition. Revealing secrets, bringing things to the surface, bridging the life and the death, interpreting dreams among other things are qualities associated to Isis and her priestesses and equally applied to the card of the High Priestess from the Tyldwick Tarot. -Fluxus- (taken from my Tyldwick Tarot journal with aid of the notes by BodhiSeed on tarotforum.net) 🌙 🔮#tarot #tarotthoughts #instatarot #tyldwicktarot #tarotreadersofinstagram #tarotmeditation #highpriestess #majorarcana #II #tarotcommunity https://www.instagram.com/p/Bqsp4DCHz93/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1xwebwyxf7rid
When you have finally stepped on fertile ground, all you can do is cultivate it. There will be time for harvest, but right now , the work has to be put in first. In other words... jogging is going great I just have to stop yelling at drivers passing by and splashing me with their damn wheels!! Eyes on the goal.
