The children a bit more grown up.
Ant has arms n hands to make art with. Rose has big mouf to nom things n scare people. Bumble has four arms to cuddle. Bee is all flappy so she can ride the wind. Wasp has face-tendrils to seize the means of production control stuff

There’s p much two versions of tarspawn right now. The one i’ve been drawing recently, and the one that’s got specific castes and colonies n such.

The recently drawn ones are practically just.... sentient tar/oil shapeshifters. with some magix mixed in. Originally born from the severed fingertip of a dimension-crushing monster that was left behind in one -> changed into a critter -> Rann.
The others are all rann’s children. (he separated a piece of himself n molded it up -> somehow made the piece live independently n allowed it to develop its own personality. BAM. children.)
Their body is literally just a big lump of the material, contained in a solidified shell. (solid shell -> semisolid layer underneath -> liquid center.) Their mind works best the more liquid material there is.
The fluff is practically the same kind of fur you find on a plushie. fake fur made of plastic-equivalent.
