Small progress on the Rose. I juggled with the idea of a hair net, but ultimately decided to keep it since I figured I wanted some rain.
Liking how it's turning out so far but still in the brainstorming stage so stuff may change. :)

Ten Songs I Listened To More Times Than I Could Count In 2014
Doing this only because I was tagged by the lovely inquisitorlizziebean
I had to seriously consider the playlist on my tablet since I can't use that darntootin spotify app because work doesn't let me on their dagnap network while I work. Bah humbug I say! Listed in no particular order as these were songs I religiously jammed out to at work and in the car. Picture an over emotional person singing in their car with hand gestures or looking weepy while listening to emotional instrumental music. Yeah. That's me.

Writing meme: #7 and 12!
7. Create a character on the spot…. NOW!
Lady Oriana Harrington of Emerald Harbor, finely bred daughter of minor aristocrats, as polite and gentle and obedient as any gentleman could wish for in a wife... And who may or may not be experimenting with necromancy in one of the cellars. Whoops.
(...*headtilt* Huh. This might work well for that necromancer I want to play in the next 13th Age campaign my group does.)
12. What’s your favorite place for writing resources?
Oooh, depends on what I'm writing! Honestly, Wikipedia's a good starting place for general research; the good articles will include a lot of links and sources to outside material which you can use to really get into the meat of something.
Since I do also write fanfiction, wikis are invaluable. Wookieepedia is awesome, if overwhelming at times because the Star Wars expanded universe is enormous and the Wookieepedia folks have compiled nearly all of it. The Mass Effect wiki is probably my favorite wiki ever because they've done a fantastic job of organizing everything in that universe. Also, the timeline awesome for keeping everything straight.
More specific stuff? Naming characters has always been really difficult for me, especially because I like my characters' names to have specific meaning. Behind the Name and 20,000 Names are my two favorite resources for this. Props also to Fantasy Name Generators - the amount of generators they have is incredible and an awesome place to turn to if you find yourself stuck, or have a specific theme in mind you need help with.
Also, holy crap, Little Details on LiveJournal. The focus is on factual accuracy - having trouble finding concrete information on a plot relevant detail? Drop a line here, and chances are someone can help you out. I have found out about some really cool things via this community, and in my experience, some of the incredibly specific questions can yield the most lively discussion and the most turned-up info.

Hopefully you can find a firm that will pay for your bar tuition! Super handy to take Barbri, space out on the lecture, and go, “Jeez am I glad I didn’t have to pay for this.”
I hope so, too! I'm erring on the side of caution, though, and assuming I won't get so lucky. Thankfully, my parents were able to sell one of the plots of land we've got on the Cape (ugh, we've still got one or two more we're trying to get rid off) and they gave me a small portion I've used to pay for my transportation costs for the summer; the rest of it will cover Barbri no problem (and there's a tiny bit extra after that I'm using as my emergency funds until loans distribute in August), so if I do end up having to foot the bill for my bar course myself, at least I'll be able to do so.
tartmuse replied to your chat:How Mom motivated me this morning to do my Sunday grocery shopping:
Make your own pickles :O Seriously delicious. All it takes is some vegetable matter, vinegar, water, salt, and whatever herbs/spices you like!
I really keep meaning to do this, but I always forget to buy some nice large jars or even just keep my old jars to reuse for pickling later. I gotta write myself a note, where are my post-its...
tartmuse/miserianomine is an incredibly talented writer and a beautiful person inside and out.

Employing that tactic with a vengeance.
today -
Mentally, I am feeling tons better today than I did yesterday. Last night I talked things over with Aaron and then Jodi, and which made me feel a lot better. Jodi gave me tons of emotional support and Aaron and I practically talked through how to deal with this, and by the time I went to bed I felt a lot better about the situation. It mostly held through today, although I think all the stress and anxiety took a bit of a physical health toll. I was up early and in court this morning, but by the time this afternoon got around I was feeling worn out and disoriented. Got tacos on the way home after my night class instead of cooking and am going to try to go to bed early. My early class tomorrow is cancelled so I'll get to sleep in, too... thinking I will feel much better tomorrow if I can get some good rest.
Again, thank you for the kind words yesterday. I needed them so much and it meant a lot to me.

thank you, thank you, thank you all for reminding me I am loved and cared for and that I am not terrible. It was so sustaining yesterday. It was my worst mental health day in a long time. I am glad that I do have all of you who will give me help and support when I ask or it. You are all truly wonderful people and you made a real difference in my life yesterday. <3
