Every semester around finals time, the library holds an event where they bring dogs for students to pet to help relieve students' stress. Today was the first day. I always looked forward to it. But today, when I went to the library to study, I purposely avoided going to the area where they had the dogs. I was scared going there would bring up memories of Tashie. I didn't want to break down & look like a fool in front of everyone in the library. So I sat at my table. Several minutes later, I see a dog & her owner approaching me. The owner asked, "Shasta, do you want one last hug before we leave?" The dog happily stood next to me & put her head down. Oh Tashie, I wonder if you whispered to that dog to give me a hug? I bet you knew I really needed it. Thank you for that hug. I miss you. ❤️
