An interview with Amalie Wilkes
01. Describe your character in a few words.
I would have to say that I’m outgoing. I love meeting new people ad trying new things!
02. Are you a New York native? If not where are you from and what brought you here? Do you like the city life?
I was raised deep in the south. I come from a small town where everyone knows your name and they wave at you as you pass them on the street. It has been an adjustment living in the city but I absolutely love it. I can’t imagine life anywhere else.
03. What is the best thing in your life?
I’m going to have to say my boyfriend. He’s absolutely amazing and he’s always so supportive.
04. What is the worst thing in your life?
Honestly, stress. With my planner filling with upcoming weddings I’ve definitely been feeling the pressure.
05. What's your biggest vice?
I like to think I’m a “good girl”. I will say though, I’m addicted to scratcher tickets- which technically is gambling.
06. What would you give your life for?
Although I don’t speak to him much, I would do anything for my dad. I’ve spent so much time hating him, but at the end of the day he’s my father- and he’s the only one I’ve got.
07. Name one thing that always make you smile and why.
Andrew Windsor. He never fails to make me smile. From fun dates to lounging on the couch, just looking at him makes the butterflies in my stomach take flight. He always says the right things and I’m so happy to have him in my life.
08. What is your biggest regret?
Not spending more time with my mom. I regret it every day.
09. Describe your career - do you love it? Do you tolerate it?
I’m a professional wedding planner. I turn the dreams of little girls into a reality of the women they have grown up to be. I absolutely love my job. It is my dream come true. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
10. Are you more of an introvert or an extrovert?
I’m definitely an extrovert!
11. What's your family like? Any siblings? Parents still alive?
After my parents divorce and the passing of my mom, I fell out of touch with my dad. He’s remarried and I have a step-brother and a half-brother, though both are under the age of 5.
12. What is your favorite sound?
The sound of rain makes me the happiest.
13. List four likes and four dislikes.
I like- dogs, sweet tea, the smell of freshly cut grass, and disney movies
I dislike- vegetables, cold showers, peppermints, and mosquito bites
14. What do you do on a rainy day?
Other than napping? I love listening to the rain fall, eating comfort food and lounging around to watch movies.
15. What type of clothing are you most comfortable in?
I love wearing dresses and skirts. I think it’s always a good idea to look nice. “You can never be overdressed or overeducated.”
16. Do you have any enemies?
Not currently. I think it’s just better to forgive and forget.
17. What kind of first impression do you give?
I think I give a good first impression. I’m professional and friendly.
18. What is one thing you're hiding and why?
My dad is the only person from my life before New York who knows where I am.
19. What is your biggest pet peeve?
When people don’t clean up after themselves after a meal.
20. Give a quote or lyric that best describes your character.
“There is sunshine in my soul today.”
