TASK 201: LIBBY FUCKING LOGAN - THE CLASSIC.
THE LUX FILES BIO:Â
Libby Logan and Lux Lewis. They should have been twin flames: two blondes out for the love and attention that they never really got at home... even if it came at the cost of other peopleâs feelings sometimes. Sure, Libby was always a little less obvious about it - but maybe thatâs why the two girls always butted heads. If Libby could just admit that she had ulterior motives sometimes, maybe Lux would have respected her. Maybe if Libby could just admit she was a little fucked up, Queen Lewis would have taken pity on her... But she never did, and the two girls stayed at odds. That was never a secret to the rest of the Gang: but Libby and Lux always kept just how much they hated each other to themselves.Â
To this day, Libby still thinks about Lux - but mainly about the night that she died. Her hand ached so badly after she had broken it on Luxâs nose, but Libby just kept punching. The sound of both of their bones cracking still rings in her head when sheâs trying to sleep at night. Maybe itâs been a year since she and Lux clawed at each other in the streets; since Libby saw the flash of a camera out of the corner of her eye and jumped away from the other girl... But sheâs still waiting, anxious and terrified, for the other shoe to drop.Â
She knows that if anyone found out she attacked Lux that night, she would surely be suspect number one... Even if her hand is healed now, and no pictures of her fight with Lux - besides the one the Candy Girl sent her, way back when - ever surfaced. Libby would still do everything in her power to hide it. Not that it should be very hard now that the Candy Girl is out of the way. Right?Â
LIBBYâS SECRET:Â
After a year of being jerked around by Cherry, Libby just wants to get back to her old self again - even if that girl was sort of a shell. To accomplish this, Libby has been buying Adderall by the bottle on the Southside. Sheâs determined to become the girl she used to be: the one who threw parties, and lived at the top of her class. The girl who seemed just untouchable enough to keep people interested. Sheâs reinventing herself... But the fact that sheâs hanging around with the Southsiders - and getting herself a little to involved with their business? That might screw over the whole ââânew leafâââ thing. If you can call âpretending I didnât have a massive breakdownâ a new leaf. Â
Sheâs been living with Leo Walsh, and sheâs terrified heâll find out and kick her onto the streets just like her mother did - so sheâs been careful to hide it. It makes her feel sick to her stomach; it makes her feel like sheâs taken ten steps back to go on hiding her habits from her friends... but Libby doesnât know what else sheâs supposed to do.Â
Sheâs messed up so bad thus far. She just wants to feel perfect again: she has to, and sheâll do almost anything to make it there. Even if Adderall totally doesnât help keep her rage issues.Â
She just wants to have a great summer working as a lifeguard on the beach, and part-time at Blossom Records. But most of all, she wants to prepare herself for the upcoming schoolyear at CCU: because sheâs going to kick itâs ass.Â
LIBBYâS CONNECTIONS:Â
THE ROMANTIC: Mackenzie Walsh had always had a crush on Libby - she knew - but it wasnât until the summer of â98 that they became close enough for her to begin to fall back. Fearful of her feelings - and suffering from Mad Religious Guilt - she ditched him after sleeping with him for the first time. Now that they barely speak to one another, Libby is the one doing the chasing, and searching for even a hint of normalcy within their friendship. Libby feels selfish beyond belief for hurting him - she feels like Lux Lewis - but itâs safe to say the roles have successfully been reversed. Heâs moving on, and sheâs heart sick and pining.Â
THE CONFIDANT: Now that Mackenzie Walsh is moving on, Frankie Freese should have less reason to worry about Libby Logan breaking his heart... Except for the fact that sheâs living in his Uncleâs guest bedroom, and totally hung up on him. Frankie is there for Libby - sheâs going to be a shoulder to cry on, and a joint to smoke - but thatâs not going to stop her from slowly pushing Libby just that extra mile out of Macâs life. For both of their sake.
THE HEARTBREAK KID: The Hargroveâs and the Loganâs have been family friends since Glenda and Harvard were schoolkids - so itâs no surprise that Libby is still hiding her friendship with Casey from Harvey, and from the rest of her family. He had crossed someone who should be close to her: the Hargroveâs were always loyal to her, and she should be loyal to them too... Casey is one of her best friends now, though. One of the only people she can trust; who can actually make her laugh when she feels like losing it. So what if sheâs scared someone will find out? Now that Glenda is out of her life, all she really has to worry about is driving another wedge between Harvey and Casey.Â
THE WANNABE: Kitty and Libby had only ever had one thing to commiserate over: hating Lux Lewis. Now that Lux is out of the picture? Theyâre constant competitive nature has taken center stage for the two girls. Both of them constantly fight for center stage, and for the last word - and now that Mackenzie Walsh - the boy Libby pushed away - is seeing Kitty? Libby is ready to compete over that too. Sheâs got it in her head to join the Cheerleading squad come fall, just to best Kitty at one more thing... Does it have anything to do with Mac? No. It has to do with kicking Kittyâs ass for rubbing it all in her face. Screw Kitty Maddox.Â
THE MANNEQUIN: Libby and Audrina always found ways to butt heads while they were growing up, and itâs no different now that theyâre grown. Libby is still terrified of the Mannequin - and maybe theyâll never totally trust each other - but now that things have calmed down in Cherry, the girlâs are at least trying to be polite to each other. Theyâre going to be newfound frenemies -Â which will be especially with Libby joining the cheerleading squad come Fall! But as Libby continues to hang out with Casey on the downlow - and the secret of Libbyâs SAT scores continues to brew in the background - will their frenemyship turn into actual friendship or a raging disaster?Â
