Beautiful day, just not for walking to work.
Having already woken early that morning, the blonde was already up and ready for the day. Dressed in a simple but nice outfit that consisted of black leggings and a over-sized sweater, along with a pair of flats. Her hair hung loosely in curls down back. No makeup graced her features, the woman was glowing from her pregnancy and didn’t want to waste her time on putting makeup herself, that morning. Most of the time Xandra didn’t bother with makeup there were too many CRAZY things that some girls were able to do that she couldn’t dream of doing. Grabbing her purse and cell phone she headed downstairs, to let the dogs out before she headed into work. Today she figured it would be a pretty simple day. Xandra just was going in to file some paperwork then she would be heading home. Opening the door she allowed Klaus and Rocko to run outside into the fenced in backyard. They would be alright until she got home in a couple of hours. They had access to water while outside. It’s not like she would leave them outside without water, if she thought she would be gone longer than a few hours. Plus, she knew that if they started to get too noisy that Cassie or Chris would come over and check on the dogs just to make sure that they were alright. That is if they were home themselves.
After letting the dogs out, she grabbed her RED key chain that had her keys on it. As the blonde walked outside she smiled at the beautiful weather. It was the first time in a while she didn’t need a coat on to go outside. Xandra decided that rather than taking her Impala on the SUNSHINE filled day that she would enjoy the sun and warmth and walk to the office that day. Besides, it would be good for both her and the baby to get fresh air and a little bit of exercise. Shouldering her purse, the woman started on her journey to the office. Xandra could start to already feel her ankles and her feet getting a bit sore from the walking, but chose to ignore for the time being. She was loving the weather and didn’t want to stop just because her because her feet were starting to hurt. A little pain never hurt anyone, right? The woman mused to herself with a soft laugh. She knew that it would end up being a horrible decision to walk into work because she would be sore for the rest of the day, but she didn’t get to enjoy the simple things much anymore. There was hardly any exercise in her life since she had gotten pregnant since she was told by her doctor that she wouldn’t be allowed to really overwork herself. She knew that she should take it easy, but she just wanted to be outside to enjoy the beautiful sunshine while she was able too. Not often in New York, was it this beautiful. She just wanted to be able to enjoy it all. While she was able too, she knew that soon enough she wouldn’t be able to walk. She would be waddling, like a penguin.
The first few drops of water had caught her by surprise. Xandra glanced up and seen that the once bright and beautifully lit sky was now darken and gray. “Fuck” she muttered to herself as the rain started to pick up. Walking to the edge of the sidewalk she raised her arm up and hailed a TAXI. Moments after stepping to the edge of the sidewalk a taxi stopped in front of her. Damn New York and its random weather, she thought to herself as she got into the back of the taxi. Xandra rattled off the address of where she was going to the driver. So much for her enjoying a nice walk! The blonde shook her head as she thought about it. Although, her legs, feet and ankles thanked the sudden change in the weather. Xandra used to be able to make this walk. It drove her nuts that she was no longer able to make the same walk that she once was able to. She didn’t stay upset long, once her light hues looked down at her stomach. Bloated with the baby that was being made inside of her. Excitement filled her, she knew that in a way her stopping her walk to work early due to the rain was for the best, the best for the baby.
