I am pretty obsessed with making tassels and quite intrigued about their history. I learned today that at one time they were worn by ancient priests and military officers to ward off evil spirits. I also read somewhere that the Egyptian pharaoh, Tutankhamun, was unearthed from his tomb wearing them around his neck.
