A few years ago I created a leather flower completely by hand.
Every petal was individually cut, shaped, molded, and assembled until it became one of my favorite pieces.
Recently I did something I never expected.
I took it apart.
Not because it was damaged.
Because I wanted to understand it.
Every layer was softened, flattened, traced, and transformed into reusable templates so other makers could recreate the same flower.
It was one of the hardest creative decisions I've made—and one of the most rewarding.
The full story (along with the original videos) is now on my blog.
