Gramma: *Asks me to get something out for dinner for her to put in the slow cooker*
Me: *Gets all the ingredients out and sets them aside for her*
After the food is done-
Gramma: Hope you're hungry, 'cus I am 😁
Me: Yeah, definitely! I didn't get my recommended calories, then I worked out and burned calories, so I really need to eat.
Me: *Goes to get us some bowls of food* ....Gramma? What's this...red stuff?
Gramma: What red stuff?
Me: It looks like sauce?
(A couple minutes of describing it later)
Gramma: Oh! Those are sweet potato puffs!
Me: *Fücking despises sweet potatoes with my entire fücking soul and doesn't want to dig through the trash for the package to see if they're celiac safe in order to check if the cooker got permanently contaminated and if it'll make me throw up next time I try to cook anything in it*
She thought we needed potatoes. Sweet potatoes are not potatoes!! Not really! I mean?! Potatoes are only distantly related to sweet potatoes! So I guess they're related, but they're not potatoes! And they're sweet potato puffs! They're supposed to be crispy! These are steamed or whatever in the slow cooker and look like a weird mushy sauce, so even if I could stand the taste, my sensory issues would prefer for my mouth to bleed from shards of glass if it meant not eating them!
Ok, found out that they are gluten free, so I can get some pork and carrots and wash them off to eat them. I was just gonna stick with a nut bar that I bought. I just can't stand anything that I can't wash the stuff off of. So I'm just stuck with the pork and carrots.
If I tried to swallow that stuff, my gag reflex would torment me.
I am thankful that she cooked, I am! I'm not ungrateful, but the taste of the sweet potatoes and the texture of them being steamed into that weird sauce-like substance makes my body want to stab the food as if it'll fix the issue. My body prefers me burning my hands while rubbing the carrots and pork down under cold water to get all of the stuff off of it before letting the food get anywhere near my bowl.
Why the fück do I have these weird problems?! Why can't I just be able to eat anything and everything that's placed in front of me? (As long as it counts as actual food)
Mushrooms? I would like to be able to eat those. Steamed tomatoes? I'm capable of forcing them down, but it's extremely unpleasant. Seafood? Such as tuna? I can eat tuna, but only if I put so many chopped up pickles in it that I can hardly sense it's texture. Just so many foods that I wish I could eat because being able to eat them would make life so much easier, but for some reason I just can't fücking stand so many foods because of textures, taste or even medical reasons.
I hate that I hate so many foods! I have actually tried to force myself to like the foods I hate, but I just couldn't do it!
