A TRIP TO INDIA

After wandering through vogue streets of France and having a flavor of China’s ancestry , I Kritman Kaur will take you to my Home country ,India which is known for its diverse cultures and trends. In India,every state has its own traditional dress , some areas prefer blend of western and customary dresses . I will start from the place where I  was born i.e Punjab which is known for its rich culture.

Men’s Clothing

In Punjab, Men wear Kurta Pajama along with turban which is inseparable part of men’s clothing in punjab. Kurta pajama comes in several styles like dhoti - kurta ,chola, suthan suit, tamba kurta , muktsari kurta and many more.

Along with Kurta pajama , men also wear wasket which gives western look to traditional wear. Coming to footwear men wear punjabi jutti which is pointed from front and broad front and broad from back.. I feel that the most appealing part of men’s clothing is the royal attire they wear on their wedding day called sherwani  along with that they carry a sword which is a tradition.

Women

Now I will tell you how women in punjab get dressed up .They wear Salwar suit which is similar to what men wear,  minor difference is that women wear a long straight cloth around their neck along with salwar suit called dupatta. Women also wear colorful matching bangles with color of their suit . 

In Punjab ,women also wear Phulkari which is similar to dupatta but  has a lot of threadwork , western countries also have similar kind of threadwork on jackets and stawls which women like to wear , if you want a perfect blend of western and traditional look ,try this jacket which is in now a days. 

Women also wear identical footwear called punjabi jutti but is decorated with stones or with beautiful threadwork . On their wedding , they wear beautiful lehenga along with bangles and a lot of other ornaments. So, i would recommend to try diverse flavours of Punjab if you want to feed your wardrobe with royal flavors and I know you will love it.
