Notes on the new colour scheme/background image
I decided to change the layout a bit. This is partly because 1) I am a spontaneous and charming bastard, and 2) various other reasons, which I shall explain here:
- I went out tonight to see Kurt Weill's "Seven Deadly Sins" - there was ballet to accompany the music, and the stage lights were pink. I am very fond of pink stage lights, and these happened to be just the right shade to trigger my rare colour/taste synesthesia (my usual and strongest types being lexical gustatory and spatial).
- There are several shades of blue to purple to pink which cause this for me. The pale blue which I now use for my writing on here tastes cool, minty and sweet, like mint chocolate - but not minty goo chocolate, like after eights. Like thick, chunky milk chocolate with mint crystals in it, or sometimes just like Mentos.
- I realise that has nothing whatsoever to do with pink lighting. However, pink lighting, in case you were wondering, tastes like Calpol (a delicious kind of children's pain killer syrup in Britain which just so happens to be bright pink). The word "good" also tastes like this, so I experience it fairly often, but it was the lighting which reminded me that I can also taste colours from time to time. There's a faint pink glow to the background picture which is fairly reminiscent of this special shade of rosy light.
- Now, whenever I look at my tumblr, I get to taste the colours on it as well as the words.
