Gilian headcanon? Theory?
I was just relistening to episode 54 of riptide and there is this one scene when Jocat's character is getting everyone's introductions and they introduce Gillian as fish, as usual, and he goes something like "ah triton", showing that he actually knows what he's talking about.
The thing is that Gillians reaction, his "yeh" doesn't just seem confirmational, but also surprised? And releaved? It sounds like he wasn't expecting someone to actually know what he was.
My THOUGHT is that, even though he doesn't mind to much, he was always kinda disappointed that his crew always just summarized and categorized him as "fish". It something i notice chip do alot and Gil always goes along with it but he never seems to enthusiastic about it?
Overall he has a very different culture and life experience as the other two and he seems very excited every time someone actually shows interest into his people and way of like, an example being when Chip actually asked him about the titans in the Dugon episode.
So i think that when JoCat's character actually KNOWS what Gillion is that he feel relieved and happy that he isn't just "fish" to him.
