When he first saw her, in that fur coat, calling the name of the imaginary character in his film, he thought he was seeing an angel. She might have been the most singularly beautiful woman he ever saw. He was also aware of the fact she looked exactly how he envisioned Sandra, the hero of his film. The one to always pull Rip Hunter back from the edge, the heart and soul of the team, the one who befriended thief, arsonist, goddess, scientist, mechanic, inventor--and wayward, lost, broken captain.

In a few fleeting moments of terror, she swung down towards him, towards the two terrifying men that had confronted him. She whirled and spun and she fought like a--like Sandra. Like the woman he’d dreamed about. In the midst of his terror, they looked just like the team he’d made his film about. His fear got the best of him, he ran, hiding with his prop master, but when he took a glance over his hiding spot, he was mesmerized by the blonde women, fighting like a tiger, and she was calling his name.

“RIP!”

No, his name was Phil, not Rip. That wasn’t right. Then the sirens came, and he moved out to get to his film, and--his eyes caught hers as she fled, and his world went sideways for a bit. She eyes held so much emotion, certainty, anger, regret--and something else he couldn’t name. Something similar to the feeling of almost. Almost what?

That he didn’t know, but before he could think about it he was being arrested and the thought of the mysterious blonde women was driven from his mind.

Easy, Melinda May :p

Why I like them: She’s got brains of Leia Organa, and the skills of Han Solo. She’s a survivor. She defies genderroles. She puts others before herself. She’s a superhero without any powers. She is a complex and intriguing character to watch and of course a beacon of hope for those who get knocked down.

Why I don’t: I HATED THE MY LIFE IS ONLY COMPLETE WITH ANDREW BULLCRAP! Like I feel like it threw away two seasons of development and made Daisy and the rest of the team mean nothing to her. [and trust me I’d say it with Coulson too] 

Favorite episode (scene if movie): Tie, I loved “Melinda” because we saw her backstory and “Purpose in the Machine” cause of more May backstory and Papa May is an Angel sent by god we need more of him.

Favorite season/movie: 2 because of May development. I hope 3 fixes the romantic bullcrap she got.

Favorite line: Whether it was 8 seconds or 40, you died. There’s no way you can go through a trauma like that and not come out of it changed. You know how long it’s taken me to… [Phil in a Han Solo Way [meaning in a quiet i am looking at the bae like the sun] then Says:I know]. The point of these things is to remind us that… There is no going back, there’s only moving forward. You feel different because you *are* different.

Favorite outfit: I loved some of Melinda’s outfits this season. She looks good in jeans and a leather jacket. But the Silver dress ensemble is awesome too.

OTP: I ship Melinda May with two people on the show Phil Coulson of course but I also Love Love LOVE Melinda x Bobbi.

Brotp: Daisy, Jemma, Fitz, Triplett, basically anyone on the team.

Head Canon: My most recent one is she has a massive crush on Harrison Ford [cause we need fluffy May Canons]. Like Han Solo to her is like what Steve Rogers is to Phil. Only Phil knows about this. She loves Harrison Ford so much that the only time she becomes extremely OOC is when she is talking about Harrison Ford/Han Solo. She got so upset over what happened in TFA she demanded they TAHITIED Han right away.

Unpopular opinion: I like the Mama trope. I know some people think its very mysgonic but I kinda like how it takes away the misconception that she is this cold unfeeling woman and softens her up a bit.

A wish: Happiness joy and sunshine for Melinda May. I dont care if it has her going backpacking across Europe by herself, a Maylet of her own, a gay romance with Bobbi, a straight romance with Phil, a dog, a cat, just make her happy.

An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen: Obviously if May dies I will be more furious when “Han apparently died“. Make her miserable for the rest of her life. Ever do that silly Ex Husband plot again.
