Welcome to the TAT Monthly Challenge
This Month's Theme is: Recovery Tropes/Prompts 1. He wakes up from the sun shining in his eyes. Alive? How? They were typical dumb torturers. A sloppy deep cut bleeding out; hanging by his spread arms, suffocating; naked in an icy cell... He tries to sit up, but he's tied to his bed. The few stitches in sight? Top-notch cosmetic surgery. He’s lucid? Precisely dosed painkillers. That distinctive glow of a recent transfusion? No. No! This isn't the kind of story where he tells them nothing and dies a hero. He’ll recover. They have plans for him. - anon
2. Whumpee is getting constantly comforted by caretaker during their recovery, especially with their nightmares but they don't think they deserve the affection, they shouldn't have been this weak in the first place, caretaker must be so disappointed in them. - @flowingriver24 (X)
3. TAT: I like when the whumpee expects things to go back to normal after they're rescued. Their injuries are mostly healed, they're back home. They're safe. Of course, they get frustrated by the fact that they're still having nightmares and that they still flinch at every sudden touch and sound. They should be better now, shouldn't they? - anon
4. recovery snuggles. Just... The caregiver cuddling the whumpee so that they feel safe. Soft kisses on the forehead. Falling asleep in each other's arms... - anon
5. TAT: Protag gets impatient with the lengthy healing process and decides to push themselves physically before they're ready, leading to reopened wounds, collapse, pale and sweaty skin, trembling hands...Plus now they have to explain to the caretaker exactly why they've ruined perfectly good stitches. - @it-is-americas-ass (X)
