@tatsumin "Got a problem? Staring is rude, y'know."
"Tsu... ru... o... -kun." The young woman walked her fingertips down her sleeping boyfriend's cheek, laying propped beside him on the bed. The sun set already, so... Was he being lazy? "Oiii~ Wake up, Mister Lazybones. Your girlfriend would like your presence here on Earth."
Tsuruo’s long eyelashes parted slowly. He finally moved, snuggling into the softness of his pillow.
“But Shiori-chaaaaan… It’s so nice and warm…”
He raised himself on his arm anyway. The coverlet slid down over his bare torso, leaving him draped like a Greek statue.
“What can I do for you, mm?”
It was hard not to notice the newspaper on the table once it was delivered. He was earlier than usual today, and they had been chatting away about plant life. He had been thinking about putting in some plants to bright up his place for spring. It would also give him something to do other than reading and cleaning. The bike was also in need of maintenance soon as well. It seems that he had quite the list this spring, not that he minded.
All of that was cut off when they saw the headlines of the newspaper. A mass murder in the city. People being killed brutally by a knife, or strangulation, or simply being ripped apart. Seishin felt a chill running down his back. While Lee questioned who on earth could have done this, Seishin already had an idea not who, but what could cause that much damage.
Once he had a moment to himself he slipped off to the corner and pulled out this phone. He quietly cursed it as he fumbled to make sentences on it. It was still a work in progress, but he was improving... slowly.
To Tatsumi
[10:46 AM] Tatsumi. There was a mass murder last night [10:48 AM] It sounds like the work of a Jinrou. There’s no one else I can think of that can kill like this murderer did [10:52 AM] You wouldn’t happen to know anything about it? I am not accusing you of anything, I’m just worried. [10:58 AM] If someone is playing god they could expose us, and we’ll all be in trouble.
She would almost be grateful for a pounding heart right about now. The silence was excruciating, and not in a nice way either. She closed her hands around her thumbs for a few seconds, building up the courage to say what she’d come out here to say. She was glad she hadn’t told anyone about this.
“I wanted to tell you... I really look up to you.”
She wasn’t finished; she wasn’t satisfied with that. She had to articulate everything and get it right the first try. She had a feeling her chance wouldn’t come back if she didn’t say it all now.
“Tatsumi-san... I know I’m a little younger than you, but... I like you. I wanted to tell you myself.”
She shifted her weight to her other hip. Her delinquent slouch didn’t make for a very “shoujo heroine” look. If everything went well, maybe he wouldn’t mind.
"Chizuru..." The young man's voice trembled with helplessness as he brushed her damp russet hair away from her forehead, fingers lingering long enough to feel her fever. The heat that had kissed her skin before was nothing more but a uneasy chill now. "Hold in there, okay? The worst part is over." [ dying words prompt ]
She hadn’t been able to gather the energy to answer him since the evening before last. All this time, he seemed so worried about… she couldn’t process the answer. A fog hung over her thoughts, empty and fading. Her fingers curled softly around his, trying to provide a little reassurance. She’d see him when she was well. Soon. Time didn’t seem to have meaning in this fog.
“Sh... Shi...”
The word scraped past dry lips, taking with it what felt like the last of her strength.
“Ai… shi… teru...”
Dull blue eyes drifted shut, and her hand went limp.
Let’s stay in this miserable village together!

So this is what they call spam. Each and every ping of the phone made his brow twitch and his frustration grow as he attempted to text back. He doesn’t know how long it took him to finally figure out what the hell he was doing, but the pings of the phone was driving him crazy at this point. The repeating message wasn’t helping along with the time it was taking for him to text back three messages.
Perhaps he was doing this on purpose to drive him mad.
