TUCKSHOP COMPLETE. I’m very happy with how this turned out and the feedback so far from the Principal, teachers, P&C, staff, parents & students has been overwhelmingly positive which is extremely satisfying. Big thanks to the P&C for the commission. It’s always a pleasure working with you - even in this crazy heat! I’m so happy to have been given the opportunity, once again, to help bring more art & colour to the school. Tuckshop project progress - Days 3-7: • 2nd coats (spray - Red, Green, Yellow), • 2nd coats blue areas • machine sanding & hand sanding poles • painting 1st & 2nd coats blue on poles • removing & grinding bolts from cement • projection tracing of designs on all panels (night session) • hand lettering panels 1 & 3, • starting food characters. Welcome to the New Year, everyone! Here is the start of my first project for 2019 now that I’m back from holidays. I’m painting the front of a local primary schools’ Tuckshop (canteen) to help make it look less prison-like and inject a bit of colour into a pretty bleak looking façade using the school colours and their 3 House colours. The first panel (left-hand end) will have a little mural on it too. Day 1: I started off by power-washing the entire front of the building and the cement in front of it. Day 2: Removed poles, and removed 4 water damaged, old boards from the area under each metal roller door and the blackboard. Then applied an undercoat of grey. Day 3: Did some sanding of a couple of poles by hand using 2 different grain sandpaper.
