oh PLEASE make a Tavros rant post. I'm awful at this kind of stuff and I wanna use it to explain why I h8 him aside from "haha I'm kinning" to my friends. -a frustr8ed Vriska kinnie
Like listen, liking Vriska has absolutely fuck all to do with why I hate Tavros. I hate Tavros’ character because to me he is just so GRATINGLY annoying, both in his personality and in how fandom handles him.
this got long so it’s going under a cut, warning if you like Tavros I’m bashing on him p hard because it’s my blog and these are my opinions!!!!!
They fall for the fact that he’s a manipulative little shit and play into exactly what he wants people to think about him - that he’s pathetic and you should feel sorry for him, and then the MOMENT he has any kind of hold, he turns around and acts like a complete douche??? He’s the kind of dude who would KNOWINGLY hit on a lesbian and then act all guilt-trippy the moment she rejected him. In fact, that’s what happens in his fucking route! Sure he doesn’t know Kanaya’s a lesbian but like, she comes as his friend to be nice and help him and then he takes it as a free opportunity to take advantage of Kanaya’s good nature and the entire time he’s acting obnoxiously about it (and trust me, if you’re annoying Kanaya THAT fucking much you really gotta be trying because we’re talking about the gal who willingly and enthusiastically decides to deal with Vriska), reading into it and the second her back is turned going ‘wink wink nudge nudge’ she’s TOTALLY into me huh bro??
And the quick flips he does between ‘noooo i wont tell u my tragic past’ ACTUALLY OKAY LET ME TELL YOU SO YOU FEEL SORRY FOR ME! like all of it just fucking pisses me off and most people wanna ignore it all because UWU HE GOT BUWWIED POOR BABUUUU, like he literally does these constant 180′s that make it clear he’s aware of himself and only declining for show and fishing for pity points
the fact is tavros was an asshole before his accident and continues to be an asshole after the fact, while he in no way actually deserves Vriska abusing him, it does not mean he gets free agency either to be a manipulative dick by trying to con out pity points, he is knowingly doing this, the route makes it pretty clear!! go ahead and be mad about it if you want but i literally just despise his entire character because it’s just disgusting to me that he acts like that.
Also gonna add in real quick, theres another character who also acts a little bit similar to Tavros - Xefros! He’s self depreciating and unsure of himself but I actually like Xefros, why? Because he’s actually a nice person still!! he’s just struggling with self worth and he’s also an interesting character.
Anyway bottom line is, I fucking hate Tavros, you can like him and enjoy his character and sympathize with him and whatever else! That’s valid and fine and you can have whatever opinion of him, this is just simply mine, I am not going to change my mind about it more than likely because I’ve had these thoughts for years and this route only confirmed most my suspicions lol
Why do you think Tavros is invalid? I get that you don't like Tavros, as you have stated many times in the pass, but saying that he isn't valid just because you don't like him is EXACTLY like asexuals getting invalidated by anyone else in the LGBTQ+ community. It isn't right, and I'm sure that you wouldn't like it if someone did it to you, would you?

Idk if this analogy is gonna make sense but I think I personally dislike tavros for the same reason I dislike Jerry from Rick and Morty. Like yeah shit things have happened to him but he uses his vulnerability to try to ingratiate himself to people to take pity on him and then when they're comfortable around him starts to get a little creepy. Like tavros's interactions w/ jade were a little unsettling to me and knowing he likely could have controlled her after she god tiered made me nervous.
oh man you nailed it pretty good actually, cos like he IS a fucking asshole and that’s what a lot of people like to overlook, I mean he murdered Jade’s grandpa bc he wanted to make himself “important” to her timeline? and literally no one ever talks about that and excuse him for it cos OH he thought that grandpa harley was a threat! uhm... so fucking what he shouldnt have been fucking with her timeline to begin with, least of all use her own fucking dog to kill him
