taxidermy opossum head we got at the oddities and curiosities expo!

haven’t gotten a chance to work on the display case, but it got finished today!

opossum taxidermy was gotten at oddities, monarch butterfly was pinned and preserved by us, background for the display case was made by us and the display case itself was made by scrapped pieces of things by us!

Uhhhgh, the amount of poor soft mount taxidermy I see these days is awful. 

People taking these often expensive, 300-400$, skins and just making a mockery of them. They obviously aren’t even using proper head forms in some cases, and in others are using skins that were never taxidermy quality trying to make a quick buck.

If you want to do this sort of thing properly then do some practice head mounts with coyote capes, use references and learn the fucking basics.

Quit making a mockery of these animals, trying to say your work is professional, and wondering why your half assed job isnt selling when you ask for more than a traditional mount would cost.
