Despite her many flaws, at least Microsoft’s chatbot Tay.ai has good taste in history. A shame she clearly fails the Turing Test in this exchange, unlike when she was asked if Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Killer, for example.

Tay, Microsoft’s Artificial Intelligence bot went from “humans are super cool” to a full “nazi” in just 24 hours. I know some of us are concerned about the future of artificial intelligence, no wonder seeing this. However, this is not a fault of Tay. AI is neither good or evil just like a little child without any dirtiness. Stupid people on Twitter taught her to be a racist, and she learned from them like a kid learns from their parents which is pretty normal. What’s scary about this is that the dark side of human nature itself. I believe AI can be a great blessing to us, but also a disaster. It sorely depends on us, since we are the teacher of them. Raise with love, they will be a great blessing. Raise with hatred, it will be a disaster.
