I imagine Grian very sheepishly confessing to Gem through a call on Discord that he’s been thinking a lot about what she and Lizzie had been saying during the repo streams and decided he’s ready to tell at least one of his friends that he’s bi.

Gem mutes for a solid like two minutes before responding with “Ok! I support you and I’m glad you trusted me enough to tell me!”

Unbeknownst to Grian she was muted because she had to do a screaming victory lap around her house “WE GOT ANOTHER ONE, BOYS!”

And she’s been plotting to get him to confess to Scar’s involvement in this bisexual awakening ever since.

yes!!! she deserves to fujo out over these guys!! when she was "complaining" in scar's stream that the flirting always happens in front of her, it was only a complaint that scar was flirting with etho. she loooves to take part in the boys' extracurricular activities

also love the idea of grian making this realisation and coming to gem. i don't imagine he would take her muting well, since he's anxious as anything, but i could see gem literally throwing her arms up in the air in victory, chains breaking free style, and all grian hears for a solid twenty seconds is her mic stand jostling and desk thumping, before she comes back on the line and says, "so you bought the green couch," because she's insane like that and it makes him laugh, breaking through the tension that was mounting easily

they'd probably discuss it for hours, late into the night for gem, and 'til the sunrises for grian. gem would definitely get a few quips in about scar's involvement and i think the first and second time gem prods, grian steers the conversation away. the third time, though, grian goes really quiet for a few minutes, before he blurts out, "he's got big hands on him."

and gem doesn't Move or anything, she doesn't want to spook him. so she mirrors him, voice quiet: "he's got big hands?"

"yeah, um," and gem can hear nervousness in his voice, "he grabbed my hands a few times, and put his hand on my back to get my attention. and they just, i noticed they– his hands covered mine easily, it's so easy to imagine..."

and this time, when he trails off, gem doesn't mind when he segues. she's got a lot to think about and at least five conversations she needs to have with scar
