I don’t understand the value of instagram at this point. Like, I understood it when the concept was to share beautiful photos for inspiration (love Pinterest and Tumblr for this). Then later I understood it when it had evolved into a way of keeping up more readily and visually with friends and more distant family (now appreciate Facebook for this) but what value does instagram actually have now beyond selling things to the general public both implicitly through its influencers and culture of micro-influencing and explicitly through its incessant ads.
This is not a rhetorical question. I’m looking for a reason to stay on this app besides getting my daily “let me go see why I should feel shitty about my life” fix. If you have insight please share because I am not intentionally disillusioned. This is just what’s happened.
