Miss Darjeeling Echo (Darji) Henry had her first adventure today at Murphy Park here in Taylor, Texas.  It was her first time encountering bird-like monsters that hissed and honked and quacked (geese and ducks), and she didn’t even bark at them.  Didn’t try to get close to them, tbh, because they were all much bigger than she is.  She didn’t bark at the random people or kids there.  Just smelled all the strange new smells, peed and pooed in strange new places, and really enjoyed her time out.  She’s getting better in her car seat, too.  Only tried to climb out of it once.

Missed the BBQ in Taylor, Texas.

I was out checking the area in Taylor and tried to stop by Louie Mueller Barbecue for lunch, but they were closed when I came through.

Still good spending time around Taylor and staying connected with the Central Texas communities I serve. Roofing, painting, leak concerns, storm documentation, exterior repairs, and property protection all tie back to staying ahead of small issues before they become expensive ones.

19-year-old cadet found dead in dorm at US Air Force Academy

Cadet 4th Class Avery Koonce was found unconscious in her dorm Wednesday night at the Colorado institution, the U.S. Air Force Academy said.

If you've got a spare few dollars, the historic home of Dr. James Lee Dickey was burned to the ground by a racist arsonist in my hometown.

Dr. Dickey was an African-American doctor who opened the only clinic open to Black patients in a 5 county area and committed his career to the service of Black public health.

The project to preserve his historic home and clinic has been ongoing since 2003, and reconstruction and preservation had recently entered phase 3.
