I have been turning to my journal more lately. Today a few things have happened where I feel like I have gotten in my head. I decided to zip to Starbucks on my lunch hour and take some time to release those thoughts onto paper.

I feel like I am in a transitional phase right now where I want to put more work into not taking so many things personally. Thinking of this lead me to remember the following dialogue from You've Got Mail:

Joe Fox:

It wasn't... personal.

Kathleen Kelly:

What is that supposed to mean? I am so sick of that. All that means is that it wasn't personal to you. But it was personal to me. It's *personal* to a lot of people. And what's so wrong with being personal, anyway?

Joe Fox:

Uh, nothing.

Kathleen Kelly:

Whatever else anything is, it ought to begin by being personal.

If Kathleen is right, how am I supposed to seperate myself from others? How am I supposed to be less sensitive and less empathetic? I'm not sure. This is just what I am thinking at the moment.

the way pjo wasn't even about percy

#im not joking. pjo was NOT percy's story #pjo was about annabeth and thalia and luke #and percy was simply telling it. yeah sure percy's 16th birthday was the timeline #but none of it was about him!!!!#percy was only the main character because he was the narrator #tlt -> about luke turning against the gods and camp by stealing the bolt. yeah percy got the bolt and saved sally but...that was NOT the po #point of the book #som -> literally the entire book was a build up to bring thalia back to life. that's it. thalia was the goal of som. and we also got more b #background about thalia luke and annbeth #ttc -> uh again. it was about luke trying to get thalia to join him and annabeth was used as his pawn.#botl -> this was kind of the last push for annabeth to try and save luke. which obviously didn't happen. also this book was very annabeth-c #centric with the quest and everything. so not about percy.#tlo -> this was really about annabeth luke and thalia's story coming to a close. annabeth finally got through to luke and managed to convin #convince him to kill kronos. annabeth saved luke and luke saved olympus. it was not percy. percy isn't the hero.#anyway. pjo is not about percy thank you very much.#pjo #taylor's thoughts
