There have been so many moments in my life where I really needed to feel the presence of God. I needed to know He was there with me, that I was making the right choice, that I wasn’t facing these trials alone. But I felt, heard and saw nothing. Sometimes, if I’m honest, I wondered if God had left me. I would think that maybe I went down the wrong path, and He was thinking, “Nope. Not going there with her. Hasta la vista, I’m heading back to heaven.” • But that’s not true at all. The bible says: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:37-39 • In those moments, when there is no tangible proof God is right there with you, this is when your faith will be tested and where you will grow closer to God than you ever have been. Here’s what I want you to do: You can’t hear Him, so let Him hear you. You can’t feel Him, so seek His face. You can’t see Him, so let Him see your praise. Yes, this is what I encourage you to do in those times: praise Him, say in faith, “ God, you ARE here with me,” keep praying and having quiet times reserved for you and Him, and read the word, reminding yourself of the truth. • This isn’t a formula to get what you want, but this will keep your faith strong when you want to give up hope. It will keep you focused on Christ, and that’s ultimately what will be your strength in these times. Stand in faith. Be encouraged. I’ve been there, some days I still go through this, so let me remind you that God loves you so much. • Seek out the goodness of God in your life. There IS good, and that is God. Lord, help me to love my family better. • We all fall short in our lives. You know it as well as I do. Our best efforts are not enough, and that’s why we need the Lord’s help. The good news is He is with us (John 16:13). • I used to feel ashamed to ask for help from God because I felt like I was bothering Him or that I was failing His expectations of me. Do those thoughts sound like they came from God? They did not, and the Lord was quick to remind me that Jesus died for me to be able to come to the Father without hesitation. Jesus opened the door for us to come to God at anytime of the day, in any place we are, and through any circumstance around us. • Many people have told me we should have an order in the way we come to God. First, praise; second, gratitude; third, repentence and lastly, asking requests. I think all those things are good, but I feel sometimes I focus more on the first three because they seem holier than asking God for help. In reality, humbling yourself to say, “God, I cannot do this alone,” is a state of heart that is pleasing to the Lord too. (Psalm 25:9) • Recently, I have asked God to help me love my family better. This is one place I struggle often and need more of Him. Today, I want you to know it’s okay to ask for God’s help in this life (Psalm 121:1-2). He’s there with you, waiting for you to come to Him (Psalm 46:1). We need God to follow God! • If you are struggling to break an addiction, come to Jesus (Psalm 50:15). If you have a hard time obeying God, come to Jesus. (Psalm 143:10) If you can’t see how to fix your relationship, come to Jesus. (Psalm 24:4-5) If you feel empty, come to Jesus (Psalm 23). God will not give up on you so don’t give up on yourself. • God has a specific purpose for each of us but without fail the enemy tries to turn our cheek to the left and right so we swerve off the path God has set before us, or stop running altogether. The enemy wants us distracted and discouraged so we take our eyes off Jesus, who enables us to do the impossible and empowers us to run this race. What the enemy fails to understand is that we do not run alone. • When the enemy puts blockades in front of you, God yells, “JUMP OVER IT! You can do it, I’m with you!” When people from the crowd say or do things that take you off guard, God shouts, “DON’T LOOK AT THEM! Listen to me, Child. Follow me, I’ll show you where to go and how to do what I’ve called you to do.” When things begin to happen all around you, the Lord says to you, “Do not fear for I am with you, Do not be afraid for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with my righteousness right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10) • Princesses, be encouraged on this day. I know life comes with many challenges, but keep going, continue to praise God in every circumstance. He will surely help you in all that you have to do. He will give you wisdom, grace, and faith on this journey. Don’t quit. Don’t loose focus. God will not leave you. Go at your own pace. • Remember the story of the turtle and the rabbit? The rabbit was going so fast down his lane, he felt he had all the time in the world to finish the race, afterall, he was a rabbit and his opponent was a turtle. He took time to eat his snacks, take a nap, explore some other paths, and eventually decided to get back to the race. Lo and behold, that little turtle who was far behind, didn’t detour but kept on his path, he didn’t stop but continued on and you know what? He won that race. • When it comes to writing, I sometimes feel I ought to write more like all these other Instagrammers who write daily. But then God reminds me that I am not in their lane, He has a different schedule for me. Sure, it may look slow to others, but actually, if I go any faster I’ll get a ticket for exceeding God’s speed limit. So, I go at my own pace. • And Princesses, YOUR own pace is perfect. It may look like people around you are superceding you in their life, but stick to your lane, keep going and don’t stop. Climb over the bumps in the road and keep your eyes on the finish line. Don’t worry about what others have already done or all the things they have going on, just do what God has called you to do.
