okay that trailer for TAZ Balance has been out there in the world for a few weeks now, so I’m just gonna go ahead and say that the one shot of Upsy in there haunts my fucking dreams. idk why i just can’t get it out of my head and find it super upsetting for some reason

After @goknights and @gullshriek completed the character designs, our animation lead @itsleahelaine created these cleaned up turnaround sheets for the characters we would use the most! These would then be turned over to our animators, along with storyboards of their shots for timing and reference!
While the design team started work on the characters, our director @thirdchildart storyboarded the trailer--a roughly drawn, black and white loose version of the final product.
These boards were timed out with dialogue and temp music. Most editing was done in this stage--deciding which shots didn’t fit, or which should be extended. Then the whole trailer was cut up shot by shot to give to the animators!
