HAHA idk what tips i can give tbh because my lit teacher told me a few months ago while reviewing a writing portfolio i sent in that i use too much flowery language; but at the same time i really liked figurative language so instead of cutting it out entirely, i tried to put more thought into it? like what is the effect i'm trying to achieve? what is the significance behind the symbols i used? and i think my writing has improved a lot in that sense, because i actually think through my metaphors and analogies on my own instead of using the usual, cliche ones, so i think they've gotten more unique! i hope that's kinda helpful 👉👈

"and there’s something unbearably ancient in the calm you see laid over his cheekbones, in the acceptance you see in his eyes" i mean?!??!?!???? yes. im a huge fan of "laid over his cheekbones" dont ask why it just make me brain happy. and imma take this chance to alsoooo say how i love his characterisation in this. the wisdom and amused knowing, but still having that playfulness and spark that we know. yee, it vibes

the bracketed flashback sections, how it repeats and repeats and repeats just made me so panicked, huge brain for doing that. im intrigued to say the least. its so cool how you described him feeling these long forgotten emotions, its those little details that remind me how not-human he is but :'( dude. trying so desperately to protect his sister, but dying and becoming the emobdiemnt of the sun (i think thats what happened?)?!?! im v emotional about this 💕 and excited to learn more

the last part was honestly so fun to write ajdbjabf after looking through my novel/other writing i'm realizing that i love writing characters with multiple identities and voices (；・ε・ ) also you didn't hear it from me but the bold and italics are actually very important

"the loudest way to say I love you" UGH this is why i love fantasy, you get all these cool world building elements. and!!!! she is being both a sister and a protector at once. BREAKING those norms in her own way, just like she did by offering herself as the exchange 👌 their relationship is gorgeous 💕

YES I WAS HOPING SOMEONE WOULD MENTION THAT because im so weak for imagined social customs and unspoken declarations and vows (((o(*ﾟ∀ﾟ*)o))) and yes <3 i just had to do the trope subversion thing by adding "it is what brothers do to sisters" and "it is what knights do to their wards" :3

also, love the way u have translated kags + hinatas dynamic over. it still feels like them, even tho the power dynamic has shifted from the anime. also i cant help but think about how hinata crowns kags the king in the anime, and how here hes esentially doing the same thing in helping him win the war, parallels babeyy. ooo and talking of dynaimcs, big yes to tsukki who is bold enough to snark the king + iwa and tsukki wordless communication - makes them feel real with actual histories!!

!! i'm happy you picked out the parallels because even though it's an AU i still tried to mirror the parallels in character relationships and character growth! tsukki snarking the king was something i added in on a whim like,, the plot wouldn't suffer if tsukki wasn't there and didn't do that but i Just Had To i saw a chance and ran with it 😌✌

yachi all but saying she would have made a great queen, and then yn kissing kiyokos hand like she did with kags ahhhh these 3... their relationship is so pure and strong, probably one of my fav parts of this series so far... i love how supportive yachi, and kiyoko, are of her, that loyalty even through things they dont like 💕😭 "The heavy fur coat pinned at his shoulders... where your own, feathered down and almost insubstantial" I see you. i see what you did there 😗👌

Btw read the prologue and the first chapter and I am so captivated ✨✨ Your writing is so pretty, like the little rainbows scattered across the shiny flooring created by the light shining through a grand chandelier.
