Who is Gabriel?

Aha. Gabriel de Clermont is a character in my Timeless All Souls AU trilogy (the first two fics are complete, the third is not yet, though I’m still hoping to get back to it eventually). He is a handsome and extremely trashy 2000-year old vampire with a penchant for making horrible decisions, especially where feelings are concerned, and especially in regard to his relationship with his brother Garcia (and the rest of his family, frankly). But he also became something of a fan favorite, especially in book 2, when we were introduced to him in all his Pansexual Elizabethan Drama Trash Emperor glory (and subsequently face-palmed ourselves into oblivion) and the people have often sent me comments/asks/thoughts about him.

Gabriel’s name and general family background exists in Timeless canon, but nothing else; Gabriel de Clermont is my own creation as a character, and I do enjoy him very much, even if he often frustrates me beyond belief. So yes.

Lmao, we will see. It would definitely be nice just for completeness' sake and because I read it again and was like "this is good the author should finish it." I have written some amount of chapter 6, and I do have several different ideas for how all the various storylines could end up. We will have to see what/when this actually happens.

Hi, will you be returning to your epic timeless X ADOW fic? It's utterly brilliant and I mainlined it this past weekend. No matter what you choose, I wanted you to know that I loved every single delicious morsel of worldbuilding, character development and dialogue. Fantastic. 💥👏🏽

It is still on the list of things I wish to complete someday, yes! I have had various distractions and other projects and the world falling apart and what have you, so I still don't know exactly when that would be. But I have recently re-read both TAW and TSAS as well as the original All Souls trilogy. I did enjoy it quite a bit (in fact, I think the show doesn't really do it justice, at least so far as I watched). But I maintain that my version is superior in numerous ways. Shh.

Anyway, the answer is still "yes I want to do it eventually," I have recently had thoughts and ideas for developments in TBDD, and maybe I will eventually kick-start the muse into working on it again. Hopefully so. We will see.

Introspection, I regret to inform you, is not a sexy boytoy a la Kit Marlowe. "Introspection," and I understand this is a difficult concept, is when a person, or let's say a handsome trashy vampire with 2000 years of Garbage to his (dis)credit, sits down, reflects on himself, realizes he may just have screwed things up, needs to make better choices, apologize to the people he loves that he has hurt, and, you know. Takes responsibility. It's gross, I know, but fortunately, your present self in TBDD was getting that. A little.

Aha. Thank you, and also I feel slightly guilty, because this is where I have to say that I have to take a (hopefully brief) break from TBDD. I love the verse and story very much and am looking forward to finishing it, but I have been pushing myself to get a chapter a week done, at a time when my mental health is unfortunately taking a bit of a nosedive (I’ve spent most of the last two days in bed, which is not good). Plus as noted, I have a million other things to do, and I’ve been working on the trilogy pretty much constantly, with sometimes multiple updates a week, since February. That is most of 2019 spent on this very long project. That and other things and the mental exhaustion and expectations around the ending etc have made it less fun and more stressful for me, and I need a hiatus to rest and then return to it.

As noted, I am hoping this won’t be too long, a few weeks or so, but yeah, I do need it and to get back to a place where finishing the chapter and posting it doesn’t kick up my anxiety, which is what it is presently doing. I feel really bad about this, since I have indeed been producing chapters regularly, but I think I’ll definitely be happier (and so will everyone else) if I take a breather.

Anyway, I am hoping to get to the other TBDD asks in my inbox within a couple days, and I did enjoy this round very much as ever. My tumblr and general interaction energy has been limited recently (I come home from having to do hours of a perky retail persona at work, and I am just… gone) and yeah, my mental health is suffering right now. So once we get through that and I feel a little better, it will be back to regular updates.
