11. What do you know now about rp that you wish you knew when you first started?

Not everyone is going to be open to roleplay with you and people can be cruel if you don’t agree with you. I was so heartbroken the first time someone blocked me mostly because I didn’t knew the reason why. Specially in those early days, about 12 years ago, I entered this community to learn how to keep using my english which I was learning at the time as a second language and you won’t believe how mean and rude some people were with me for being a non-english speaker and a, gasp, a latina. It was awful and I wish I had been more prepared back then for that type of meanness. 

34.Have you ever cried while writing a reply?

Answered already but yes! you know how emotional our replies can be, my bro. specially with jason and dick.

22.What would make you block someone?

the most inminent thing would be them roleplaying nsfw with minors or being very crude in their language. while I’m perfectly okay writing darker themes and subjects, there are ways to be subtle and respectful and they are ways to be crude for the sake of crude. specially if they are doing so with a roleplaying who is a minor. like please, no, stop.

16.If you could change one thing about rp on tumblr, what would it be? Why?

No more cliques and elitist. Which exist, sadly. Being exclusive with someone for one plot or character dynamic is great and mutuals only too, but I think, a consequence of this is that maybe we get a little elitist about it. And speaking from experience, opening up the opportunities of roleplaying with another version of the same character can be opening and exhilarating. 

34.Have you ever cried while writing a reply?

Yes. A lot of times, specially when my characters are so emotionally charged like Jason is. I cried a lot a long time ago in another blog I had of jason as I wrote with a Joker and their confrontation and I was so frustrated that I cried. I remember I cried so much when back on my klaus mikaelson blog I roleplay with a mikael (his stepfather) and my character was so distraught, angry, sad and bitter that I couldn’t help but to do so myself. In a way, writing those themes is cathartic to me.

15.How has rp changed you personally?

I think RP has made me realize how different everyone’s opinions can be, to the point of insanity really. Sadly, it has also showed me that people in the rp community (not all of them of course, or else i wouldn’t be here) but in the internet in general, think they have the monopoly of opinions and if you think different than them, you are wrong. It showed me how different the internet and the real world are. 

It changed me to accept new forms of media and people and change as a better person, i hope.

7.What’s your opinion on call out posts?

I think they can be useful when they have hard evidence and facts. They can also be a little tricky because for instance, I’m all in favor of people roleplaying darker themes and characters in tumblr, the same as a writer is allowed to write about those themes as well. but I do see a trend in recent years about how if you write x thing you are x something, which it’s farther from the truth (in my amateur screenwriting opinion). 

they are great when they inform you about someone who is doing illegal things, who is pressuring others, who is manipulating and wanting to write disgusting things for the sake of writing it. I do think, in my opinion, most of them are vague because they see something on their dash and think they have the right opinion. 

I would much prefer a less call out post (mostly because the internet has a mob mentality which i do not approve) and just make a psa about how you won’t roleplay that subject or/and with those characters, blacklist them, block them if you have to and done.

Ya'll probably already know how much I love summerscourtney. She's an amazing author with a sass that won't quit. But that's not why ... well not the only reason why I want to read this book.

It is through popular culture mediums like books, tv, movies, etc. that the generation of discourse on social issues - i.e. rape culture - can occur. Which, in turn, culminate in change. And that is exactly why books like All The Rage are important, and why I'm excited to read it.
