(This post is safe for all Twinblood participants to view)
Rather than making videos to document my Twinblood POV, I’ve bound a field notebook that I’ll be writing in from the perspective of Misty. I’ll be recording notable events, locations, and of course her research into the creatures of the night. There may also be drawings, pressed plants or other items, and letters stuffed between the pages.
Each journal entry will be posted to #twinblood and #tbsmp for archiving, with #tbMisty as my personal POV tag. I will provide the text when applicable so you don’t have to read my handwriting.
For more photos and info on this book’s construction, see below the cut!
The text block is 22lb short-grain cream paper, and was hand sewn and covered with mull. The endbands are also hand tied. I didn’t have any harvestmoon-themed endpapers on hand so I just picked something I thought looked nice. The cover is faux leather, and I’m so happy with how nice it took foiling! The font is Saint Carell.
I wanted to make something that felt like a Minecraft book, which I think it does!
Great ending to Twinblood, at least for me. It was an emotional rollercoaster and I enjoyed every second of it!
Sorry I’ve been neglecting my journal for anyone keeping up, session 8 was really emotional and I stalled in writing. Now that it’s over I think I can go through and finish cutting my footage to remind myself of what happened back then and write the final entries.
I’m living in Eris’ basement now. I can’t feel the cold anymore, so that’s nice. I’ve been living off rotten flesh and Eris’ chickens. They don’t taste great but it’s something.
I’m so hungry. I’ve been running tests. I can’t eat spiders or creepers or carrots. Zombies are edible. Maybe it’s because they were once human? I need more tests. I can’t leave town alone without drawing suspicion. I still need to get back to Luther, I was supposed to bring him eggs. I’m so hungry, Lark, it’s making it hard to think.
You wrote about a cure. Nettie was talking about that too a few weeks ago, but I’m scared if she finds out she’ll kill me. I’m so hungry. I don’t want to get out, I just want answers. Do you know anything about vampires? My knowledge is lacking and none of the other vampires have explained anything to me. I don’t understand why everyone wants the others dead. There was a big fight yesterday and I’m scared. I’m so hungry.
Rotten flesh isn’t that bad. It’s better than human at least.
I can live off this
Maybe I should try carrots

Carrots don’t taste good.
My zombies seem to like them but I don’t. Why?
I can’t eat bats
How do creepers taste?
***
Can’t eat creepers or spiders

Log 5
I’m living in Eris’ basement. She gave me chickens. Luther sent me here to get chickens, his blood let me last long enough to get here. I’m so hungry still. I need to get him the chickens but I can’t leave town just yet. I can’t leave Eris behind.
***
I think Sevvia was turned. I felt a strong pull towards their house and then some people I know are vampires showed up, and some others. They looked different later. Do I look different now, too?
I’m so lucky to have Eris. Out of everyone, I think she understands. I’m so scared of what the rest of town will do to me if they find out. They’re all kind because they think I’m human. I need to experiment on myself before they can experiment on me. I’m undead now, like my zombies. To Nettie, vampires are the same as zombies. I know that’s not true, I just don’t know how to prove it yet. I’m too hungry.
I don’t know why Luther wants everyone dead, why he attacked everyone at the ruined castle. I don’t know why he turned me. I don’t know what he wants. He said I just need to focus on my emotions. I’m so hungry.

Dear Lark,
I’m sorry. Your letter came too late.
I’ve teased you endlessly about the supernatural, but I never actually believed the stories were true. There may be mobs that we haven’t discovered yet that share traits with them, but everything can be explained. The stories aren’t real. But I am.
For all I’ve researched into the undead, I never wanted to become one. It’s inevitable that we’ll all become zombies and skeletons one day. And now I don’t even know if I’ll join them.
Ace called everyone to the town’s fire pit this morning, and announced he will be leaving town. There have been too many people pointing fingers, and I agree.
On the way out of town, I ran into Ven and Cipher. Cipher has been lost in the woods for days, and I’m glad to see Ven make it back after we got separated. Ven accused Randon of attacking them out of nowhere, and said that Luther helped them escape. The whole town is hysterical. I just want to do my research. I’m going to make this graveyard my permanent home while we’re all trapped here.

I found four more zombies and made them a house! Now my friend isn’t alone when I’m away. They all seem to enjoy chatting with each other, and with me. One of them really likes the pond I made for them. The overhang is just enough to give them sunlight without burning them.

Ash came by to place flowers on the graves. They are very afraid of my zombie friends but happy enough to be in a graveyard. I don’t understand them.

Eris, Nettie, and Arlan came by to visit while I was out collecting resources. Eris said that Luther had attacked more people, and asked me to be careful.
There was a sudden cold pressure in the air, like a piece of the forest was hurting. We went to the transmission tower to see if anything had happened, and the beacon was gray. We sat around it until it was orange again. It felt nice.
The others wanted me to return to Oakhurst with them, but I’m still rather stay out here with my zombies. They all told me to be careful.

Vampires are real.
I’m so hungry.

Luther turned me and there was no time to ask more questions: he drank my blood and asked if I wanted to become undead. I said no and he attacked me: he stopped when I asked, but it was too late. He said I’m stronger now but I don’t feel stronger.
I feel so weak.
I’m so hungry.
{the writing becomes more messy and blurry as the page goes on}
He told me that it’s the beacons that are trapping us here, and I watched as they turned it red. Ronan and Ava are also vampires. Luther said we have to kill every human to leave. I don’t want to kill anyone. Eris and the others showed up and Luther claims to be one of the survivors from the last massacre. Everyone was scared for me. I’m fine, I think. I’m alive, or something like it. I’m so hungry. I’m scared. I need to run more tests. I’m so hungry.
This morning I went back to the copper tower with Sevvia, Rose, Ava, Randon, and Eris. Eris called it a ~scratched out~ “radio tower” for long-range communication, apparently Warren has experience with these. Everyone read the books and agrees that the author is probably just as scared as everyone in town is right now.
*
After the tower, we made our way over to the mass grave. I’ve decided to turn this into a home while I’m here, to do some research on zombies. I’ve set up a little house for myself and an area for the zombies.
*
I’ve found my first zombie! He was in a cave, and now he’s in a new house! He really likes a boat I made for him. He doesn’t have a name yet. I’ll be observing him more in the days to come.
*
Rose and Nettie returned and they didn’t like my new friend very much. Ash was scared to be left alone with me. It hurts but I get this is a lot. When I prove the zombies are just like us then maybe people won’t be so afraid. I know my new zombie friend liked them!
I’m going back to Oakhurst now with the others. I’ll be back later to make this a beautiful home!

There was a letter for me in the aviary from ~crossed out~ Lark. I don’t know where these keep coming from, but it is Lark’s handwriting, so somehow it is getting through.
My reading was interrupted by a large group of people returning to town, and someone called out my ~crossed out~ name. They were going on about a book they found, and refused to say more until we were in Ace’s cellar. Apparently some people attacked some others, so they’re accusing them of being vampires.
I read about vampires in a Kim on the undead once. They’re a fun story. I like tormenting Lark about the existence of supernatural creatures, but they’re not real. If vampires are real, then my whole life has been a lie. The way Nettie talked about vampires in the stories she’s read is the same way people talk about zombies - soulless, evil, driven by hunger and base instincts, no longer the person they were before being turned.
While I’d love to see more zombies here, I don’t want to see my new companions turned so quickly. If I can prove that zombies are no different than us, then maybe I can stop this from getting out of hand. And if vampires are real, maybe they’re the same as us, too. Stories are always exaggerations anyways.
This is just a funny character break moment I wanted to share. I’ve been cutting down my footage while doing weekly journal entries, so I may have actual videos of my POV at some point if I have the time to do real editing!
