Excitement filled you the moment you arrived at your dream school. It has been one of your biggest goals to study the best magic at a renowned place.
However, your first day didn’t go as smoothly as you expected. A run-in with famous troublemaker Lee Hyunjae put a downer on your experience. How you got to know him... Well he is kind of famous on campus and a year above you.
Your advisor, who showed you around, stayed with you after being done with the tour and told you about a few students you can always ask for advice and some you should avoid. Hyunjae being on the list of avoiding at all cost.
Skipping a few months into the year, life was the most enjoyable it could be. No troubles and learning all about magic there is could never become boring. Or so you thought.
You’ve been out at night, walking around campus because you couldn’t find it in you to sleep, when you saw Hyunjae out and alone by himself. The minute you saw him, you wanted to leave but something about his aura and the way he looked down, like troubling thoughts were clouding all around him, made you stop in your tracks and observe him. (not in a creepy way👀) As if in trance, you moved out of the shadow you hid in and sat down in front of him. (yes on the floor)
Startled by you, he immediately put on his facade.
‘You don’t have to put up your front. I know something is bothering you and I’m not here to judge or make fun of you,’ you sighed. ‘To be completely honest, I don’t even know what compelled me to walk up to you.’
You looked up and saw his expression soften and a shy smile appearing. It was the first time you saw him without his huge grin/smile, that stirred your stomach in a good way but no acknowledgement on you side.
Wrapped in comfortable silence, you stood up and plopped yourself down next to him. Looking up at the sky, you two sat afraid to somehow turn this situation awkward but uttering meaningless words.
‘Thank you.’
With that your daily late nights in the garden began.
