I know The Clockmaker's Daughter is a musical, and therefore it's songs have to go hard, but like.
WOW.
I'm usually not a fan of musicals, whether they're Plays, or Movies, Real or Animated, but The Clockmaker's Daughter Soundtrack scratches my brain in a way nothing else has.
Usually it's a song or two, like "Lay All you Love on me" From Mamma Mia, or a the backing soundtrack, but TCD just.
It's hits everything it has to. Not one song is skipped, even if some are replayed!
The Turning of the Key is so bright and lively.
Impossible is jaunty and a little stilted in that way someone would be after doing what Abraham did
A Story of My Own superimposes that Yearning and Loneliness into one's soul
Raise a Glass is so full of Love in a way that's hard to describe, even with Those bits in the middle!
Clockwork? The way it gets so tense, and Raises the stakes, the way the anger, and frustration, and fury Builds, and builds, and Builds, until is Crescendos with a Bang!
It's all just so wonderful, and I love it so much.

The darkest costume of the show as we move into Act 2 where Ma's actions become iredeemable (iykyk). Continuing with the triangular and sharp shapes for her. This is her most rigid outfit of the show as she remains set in her ways and prioritises herself and her views over the good of the town and her own son.

In contrast to the rest of the cast, Ma's wardrobe begins in a lighter colour scheme so that it can darken as her character progresses through the show in order to show her 'fall from grace' as the town's seamstress, as it were. Her colour scheme consists of purples in order to oppose Constance's colour scheme, and her style and silhouette adhere much more rigidly to the historical fashions of 1895.
