Naturally, she thought to herself. Naturally Teddy would be right again. She was sitting in the corner of a corridor, she’d quite forgotten which one actually, head in hands, face red and puffy. Victoire had never been one to cry in public, but she knew that if she went up to the common room a million people would be asking her questions and then she’d just be crying in front of them. With that logic, she’d run as far as she could muster before collapsing on the ground and crying her eyes out. She hated that she was crying over him, over a boy, but this was new for her. Victoire had been used, dumped, pressured, and insulted, but she’d never been cheated on.
She’s been going to meet him- she thought that might be the worst part. She’d been going to meet him at what she’d thought was their spot behind the Quidditch stands, but was apparently his spot. Clearly, she’d been early, clearly he hadn’t been expecting that because when she arrived at their spot, he was in the middle of shagging Jenna Evans. Jenna Evans. Victoire was wrong, the worst part wasn’t that he’d shagged someone else not a quarter of an hour before he was meant to meet her, but it was that Jenna Evans was supposed to be her friend. She supposed that’s why both Jenna and Miles remained unhexed. Vic had been so shocked upon seeing Jenna Evans shagging her boyfriend that she’d entirely forgotten to hex them before spinning on her heels and running away. This, Vic realized was most definitely the worst part. In fact, she was in the middle of contemplating which hex would be spectacular enough for the situation when she felt someone sit down next to her and lifted her head out of her hands to look at them.
She sighed, deeply, and dropped her head back into her hands. She really wished Teddy wasn’t so good at finding her. “I’m fine, Ted.” Despite the tears running down her cheeks. Despite the fact she was hiding in a corner. Sure, fine.
