Another AU where dream never touches the black apple but instead had built up negativity. This hasn't happened yet in the fic but yea he somewhat shatters from being insecure and depressed. It cannot be reversed easily as his soul is cracked. Dream has a tendency to isolate himself from others as a punishment for failing Nightmare.
The main ship in this au is kcrnm (night and Mare are separate beings sharing a body. Night is weaker and usually sleeps while Mare controls his body.
