We're casting!

We've had multiple of our voice actors become unable to commit to the podcast due to scheduling/personal reasons, so we are looking to recast some of our characters before we can begin working on the rest of Season 1.

WE'RE CASTING!

The Children of Room 56 is recasting one of our main roles, Sam Moss, for the rest of Season 1, due to our original voice actor becoming unavailable.

You will not be expected to sound like the previous voice actor, we want your own take on the character! Final casting decisions will be based on how well you embody the character, not how much you sound like the original voice actor!

All actors are required to be 18 years or older. Sam is Black, plus size, neurodivergent and a lesbian. We will be prioritizing voice actors who are all four, but all Black queer voice actors are welcome to audition. Both cis and trans voice actors are welcome to audition.

ROLE HIGHLIGHT - CHIP ROMERO

We're recasting one of our main characters Chip Romero!

NOTE: This role is open to transmasculine VAs only!

role description:

Chip Romero is a 16-year-old student at Spiritsford Secondary School.

Prior to Season 1, he disappears and is presumed to be dead, and the first part of Season 1 is dedicated to his friends looking for him.

Halfway through the season, he returns, having had a supernatural experience. He is now back in Spiritsford and learning to readjust and reestablish his relationships.

fun facts:

cares deeply about his friends

big sci-fi and horror nerd (has a dog called Mulder and a cat called Scully)

can understand spanish but can’t speak it (his mother is from Spain)

specialises in haunting the narrative (less so now that he’s back)

brave but also so so afraid

blue hair and pronouns
