So i went out and bought a newer, bigger turbo for the WRX. The turbo housing on the right is what my original plan was, and it's from a TD04HL-20T that flows around 510CFM at 15psi. On my car it would have been running about 22psi at peak and making around 220kw (295hp) at the wheels. The turbo on the left is my new badboy. It flows 640CFM at 15psi and will be pushing 24psi at peak on my new setup. It should put down about 300-310kw (400-415hp) to the wheels. Should be making 22psi at 4000rpms and 24psi at 4250rpms. Holding 24psi until 7000rpms and ramping down to 20psi until 8200rpms. This probably doesnt mean a lot to most people, but this makes me extremely excited to get my WRX running again. This turbo in combination with my 280° Brian Crower Cams, Firged internals, E85 Tune, External wastegate and 8.8:1 compression ratio is going to make for an amazingly punchy car with decent spool and great powerband. Not to mention its going to make some amazing god damn sounds!!!
