Wow this was a good hike morning. I found a new trail that led to a tree I've been trying to get to for several years. The view was amazing and the trail had a few little extras I loved finding. Too pretty out today to stay inside. 18° called for the heavy coat, and it did it's job. Could've stayed out all day but snow blind is a real thing y'all! Back out here finally! Have had to stay away for awhile, had a strained/torn calf muscle and I didn't want to take any chance of it getting worse and really stopping me. Today felt fantastic, about 2/3 of the way in, but then a little twinge on the worst of the uphills. Talked my nephew into taking me on an early morning hike up Wells Gulch at Lory State Park outside Fort Collins. Beautiful trail and views all around.
